Awful experience, I wouldn’t recommend to my worst enemy.
The good thingsImmediate super and some team members were great.
The challengesThere is a significant lack of communication throughout the entire company. It feels as though unless you have connections and agree with everything, your concerns are dismissed. Many members of management, particularly those in the office, show little respect for their teams and demonstrate little concern for their employees, whether on-site or off-site. When issues are raised, management often shifts the blame back onto the individual rather than addressing the actual problem. in appropriate behaviour goes unchecked, and the executive team seems disconnected from the challenges of recruiting staff in various departments. Their focus remains solely on profit, without consideration for employee well-being. If management focused on properly supporting their current employees instead of solely chasing every dollar, the company wouldn't experience such a high turnover rate. Good practices should be the foundation, yet leadership refuses to reflect on the feedback they receive. Instead of using reviews to improve, they place the blame back on those providing the feedback.

Proud to be part of a team that values its people!
The good thingsWorking with Macmahon in the People Team is truly a rewarding experience. The team's commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment is palpable. I appreciate the constant support from my peers and management. I feel fortunate to be part of a company that places such importance on its people. Kudos to the People Team for making Macmahon an exceptional place to work!
The challengesBeing a mining company, many of our operations are remote which can lead to isolation and challenges in providing services to our employees. However, we are able to successfully manage these challenges by being adaptable, proactive and strategic.

In my opinion, you'll find a company that cares deeply about its people. It's a place where your growth and well-being are top priorities, offering rich opportunities for advancing your career. Despite the geographic distance in our team setup, the sense of close knit support and communication never falters.
The good thingsMacmahon in my experience over the past 12 months shows they are deeply committed to their employees, going to great lengths to ensure each person feels supported and appreciated. Actions back up the company's supportive words – from addressing individual concerns to providing necessary job resources. The company offers ample career growth and professional development opportunities, recognising and nurturing employee potential. This was a contributing factor to me taking on the position.
The challengesDistance may pose a challenge at times regarding team connectivity, but we are in constant communication via Teams or Skype and that helps bridge the gap.

I've transitioned from an external agency to an internal role, and it's been a game-changer for my work-life balance. This shift has granted me dedicated work hours, providing valuable time to spend with my family. Working within this team has been incredibly fulfilling—the camaraderie and support among colleagues make every day a joy to come into the office.
The good thingsThe Macmahon WAC Head office boasts an exceptional Recruitment Team known for their collaborative and friendly approach. Employees benefit from flexible work hours and the opportunity to engage in multiple projects. Additionally, the office offers free parking and access to a world-class gym located within the premises. Situated in a tranquil section of Perth Airport, it provides a conducive and peaceful work environment.
The challengesDifficulties arising from a highly competitive job market within the mining/civil industry.

Enjoyable people, challenging and interesting work, combined with plenty of opportunities for growth/development.
The good thingsMacmahon is an exciting and ever-growing business. With a delightfully positive office/corporate environment, we've got support from all sides when working to meet the needs of our people and clients.
The challengesThe challenges are part of what makes my role exciting. We are sometimes required to adapt to last-minute changes, or deal with significant, unplanned difficulties. This is not the product of poor planning, but instead echoes the nature of contracting operations with ever-evolving client relationships.

Was a really good company to work for but in the past couple of years something has broken.
The good thingsLarge number of different sites you can work. Opportunities to progress your career with external and internal training provided. Guys on the floor good to work with and stick together to face the brickwall that is management.
The challengesGrown too fast with people that have moved into middle and upper management positions that are inexperienced and micromanage and won't take ownership of their shortcomings playing the blame game on those below them. Budget $$ focused when it comes to maintenace of machinery. Wages rate behind rest of industry for fitters and has been for a few years now
