Sometimes the job does get a little dry however there is a good balance between the social network at work and the workload.
The good thingsSales are a significant aspect of the role however there is not a high amount of pressure to meet targets. It is a calm environment that provides a good pace to learn.
The challengesConnecting with customers and communication between different Marcs stores

    Fun , good culture, flexible
The good thingsManagements and culture is great if your working within a boutique environment. I haven’t worked in a concession store yet so I can’t judge what it’s like. Uniform allowance is the best since we are required to wear product and don’t necessarily want to be forking out our own income to buy clothes. Management show appreciation to staff and acknowledged that we are doing a great job.
The challengesCustomers are very savvy these days and already know what they want. This is a good thing for our regular loyal customers but not so good when there’s so much competition out there. Sometimes we don’t always have the exact item A customer is looking for, and it’s ok.

Working for Marcs is deadly boring. Clothing doesn't sell unless heavily discounted. It's not uncommon to have 1 sale per day. Only sale times are different. Expected to wear current season clothes with a tiny uniform allowance. You end up spending your h
The good thingsHourly rate is paid despite the low sales of merchandise.
The challengesLow sales unless there's a huge promotion on. Only discounted product sells. The floor space is very small. Company provided signage is poor. The VIP program is nothing to write home about but you have to promote it.

The good thingsGreat staff, supportive managers and supportive regionals. Very generous staff discount and uniform allowance. The company overall is the best company to work for.

It has been the best time of my life.
The good thingsBig company with small business care to employees. Made investments in my abilities and growth. Gave me opportuniy and room to prove and challenge myself. Giving me confidence and guidance where needed.
The challengesLimited product range compared to that of Sydney and Melbourne. Administration and sale of business put a lot of stress and strain on the company and all that work there. Management head office in Sydney and Melbourne. Limited contact and training from senior management when further progression desired.

don't work in a concession - work in the main stores.
The good thingsthe people who work there are lovely and I had a wonderful time with the team.
The challengesworking in a concession was awful. management tended to ignore concessions and I found that I worked mostly for the department store in which I was located, not the company itself. They also expect too much from casuals and although acknowledge that many casuals are studying, they make no real effort to secure jobs despite loyalty from their casuals.
