Current leadership has no concern for staff morale. They don’t value the people they have, and will choose toxic behaviour over creating a positive and inclusive environment.
The good thingsSome managers are good, ok benefits
The challengesThe current leadership team micromanage, monitor through CCTV, are toxic and don’t trust staff enough to do their jobs properly. All the good staff are leaving to go to different properties because they are not valued.

I have gained valuable professional experience working in a fast-paced and customer-focused environment. Over the past year, I have developed strong skills in communication, teamwork, and problem-solving while delivering quality service. My role has given me exposure to handling responsibilities under pressure, maintaining professionalism, and adapting quickly to new challenges. This experience has helped me grow both personally and professionally, preparing me for future opportunities where I can continue contributing to organizational success.
The good thingsHere are some positive aspects you could highlight about working at a company (you can adjust them depending on your actual experience): 1. Supportive Work Environment – Colleagues and management are cooperative, encouraging teamwork and mutual respect. 2. Career Growth Opportunities – The company provides training, learning programs, and chances to develop professionally. 3. Job Security & Stability – A reliable organization that values long-term employment. 4. Recognition & Rewards – Employees are appreciated for their hard work and contributions. 5. Work-Life Balance – Flexible scheduling or policies that help maintain personal and professional balance.
The challengesHere are some common challenging aspects of working at a company (you can adjust based on your actual situation): 1. Fast-Paced Environment – Work can be demanding and requires quick adaptation to changes. 2. High Workload at Times – During peak seasons or busy periods, tasks may increase and require extra effort. 3. Long Working Hours – Sometimes extended shifts are necessary to meet deadlines or customer needs. 4. Limited Career Progression – Growth opportunities may take time depending on company structure. 5. Communication Gaps – At times, information flow between departments can be slow or unclear. 6. Pressure to Meet Targets – Performance-driven culture can sometimes feel stressful.

    Poor top management strategies.
The good thingsAllowed some creative within the role.
The challengesUndercutting through staffing and too many add on promotional for guests, if your savvy, 100% off your night at the bar n restaurant. Most nights 80% of guests did this. Poor end game strategy.

would strongly advise looking elsewhere - base legal wage for maximum work
The good thingssome of the operations team are amazing, made it bearable
The challengesmanagement changed during my time and it brought many negative changes, went from guest focus to making upper management rich focus. it's a 3 star hotel charging 5 star pricing, which makes it very hard to meet guest expectations, so you're constantly experiencing angry guests.

W Brisbane looks gorgeous outside but inside kitchen culture is rotten. do not ever try to apply a senior chef role there.
The good thingsI don't think there is good things.
The challengesPoor management, lack of staff to cover massive banquets, kitchen is very unfriendly designed to chefs. Low salary. Head chef is just sitting in the office whole day and doesn't care about what is going on.

Being part of a worldwide company is very good but do not expect to be have any recognition if you are a hard worker. If you are lazy no one will ever tell you anything.
The good thingsDifferent backround. Open mind company. Feel like a family
The challengesBeing FO is such a challenge as you have to do the sales job in addition to all the work you already have to do. No recognition, you work hard, good on you, you don’t work hard, good on you as well.

Always good and bad experiences, watch out for bad management.
The good thingsThere were so many different areas to learn and you were encouraged to try new things. In saying this, getting the actual opportunity to do so is hard and depending on what manager you have can determine your success in moving around.
The challengesThe hours they expect you to work based on the fact it is 'hospitality' is often ridiculous. In addition, it is a very hierarchical system within departments and it is hard to climb the ladder when you have to constantly watch your back. If you're best friends with higher management then you will be fine however if you stand up for yourself and beliefs then don't bother. There is an opportunity in this company it is a shame that there are often those who ruin the opportunity for everyone else. It certainly makes it difficult when even HR sits in the manager's pockets.
