What’s it like working at McKinsey & Company?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at McKinsey & Company value the excellent learning opportunities through exposure to diverse projects and clients across geographies. They appreciate working with brilliant colleagues in a supportive environment and enjoy fantastic benefits and perks. The global opportunities to work with corporate leaders worldwide are also highlighted as a positive aspect.

However, some potential challenges include difficulties with work/life balance due to long hours, frequent travel commitments, and a high-pressure environment. There are perceived limited career progression opportunities for non-consultants, and at times a hierarchical attitude from consultants towards support staff can create a division.

Amazing work culture - no career opportunities if you're not a consultant.
The good thingsExcellent social culture. Friendly environment amongst work colleagues. Fantastic benefits and perks.
The challengesNo career progression if you're not a consultant, specialist or working up to Partner. They are heavily invested in the \"money makers\" for the firm but don't invest in support staff resulting in frequent turnover. Management and consultant's attitudes are hierarchical which creates definite division amongst them and support staff.
