Great place to work, hard to make the jump into management.
The good thingsCaring culture Expectation of performance Great management Varied projects Juniors roles progress well, good choice for a cadet, leading hand, apprentice, junior CA or foreman to build their experience whilst being supported.
The challengesHard to progress into senior roles. Management are locked in and the majority are highly competent, which is incredibly rare. Its very hard to make that next step and is the reason why I left.

Dissapointing experience. Unless you want to build sheds, not the place to be.
The good thingsProcurepro. Based on site.
The challengesProjects un resourced. 60 hrs wk. Do not lead by values - safety last, quality sometimes, care out the window when required. Management more concerned about turnover of $ instead of turnover of staff. HR is not your friend. Business over People always. Management don't listen & have a blame culture.

    Lack of basic construction sequencing.
The good things1 early day a week, though you need to fight for it , good culture for people.who fly und we the radar though long hours and lack of experience in their work force
The challenges1. No planning 2. Preachy and non committal. 3. Manipulative. 4. No one wants to make a decision 5. Fear through out the workforce of senior staff. 6. Unwillingness to address issues within SPT due to fear.

Excellent culture and down to earth, present leaders. Agile and supportive of innovation and those who think differently.
The good thingsGenuinely great people. And great projects and diversity of work. Offered a lot of flexibility in my role.
The challengesTechnology systems - but these are improving. Not all the perks of a multi-national/national company but the pay is competitive and great culture offsets this.

It is a great place to work if you don't mind spending 55 - 65 hours a week away from your family plus travel.
The good thingsWell resourced teams, good people, career progression & staff training. Staff are well supported and expected to do everything to the highest standard.
The challengesDemanding work schedule and tight programmes, you are given the resources and there is no excuse not to get it done safely and to the highest possible standard.

They have some great people working for them but when you are on the hit list your gone no matter what you have done previously
The good thingsThey have some excellent projects on there books and uniforms for site staff . Some of the employees are great to work for.
The challengesProjects are inadequately prepared before construction stage. This then puts pressure on the construction team to complete with no budget and cheap contractors this leads to conflict between site crews and office. Whenever someone goes on holidays very rare that they will have a job when they get back hence the lack of experienced office employees

The good thingsVariety of different buildings to work on
The challengesUpper management, working to unrealistic timelines. They push push push jobs to get them done in record time and quality for client goes out the Window but management all give each other a pat on the back

Legendary! McNab supports growth and is constantly touching base to ensure they are aiding in helping to achieving your goals.
The good thingsMany people wouldn't be able to say they enjoy going to work each day however that isn't the case when working at McNab. The people and culture make the environment interesting and enjoyable. You will always be encouraged to step out of your comfort zone and experience new things to promote growth.
The challengesLike any job, it has it's good and bad days however the support network at McNab has that family feel about it and you know that you will not face any challenges alone.

Would not ask for a better introduction to the industry.
The good thingsMcNab is a great company that is supportive of each member in any role. There is fantastic opportunity to progress and take on new responsibilities. The culture is great and reflective of the company's approach to maintaining their 'legendary' status.
The challengesChallenges in understanding and learning new systems. Plenty of support but can take some time to understand as a first timer.
