Very challenging, but if you absolutely love animals or people and salary isn't an issue, then its for you.
The good thingsGeneral staff are amazing especially all staff who take care of the animals and education. Staff work for terrible wages and incredibly long hours (except upper management) so they do it purely for the love of the animals and other equal staff. Always something happening to keep you busy.
The challengesUnfortunately Sealife was bought out by a UK Company: Merlin Entertainments. They have absolutely no care for animals or staff as they are strictly profit driven. This unfortunately leads to terrible animal and staff care. Animals are never allowed to be released and are continually replaced with the knowledge they do not have appropriate tanks or staff numbers. This deeply hurts staff who are too scared to leave as they feel the animals will be even worse off.
