Do not work here unless you want to break your back for lazy co-workers and managers
The good thingsOnly a very few group of co-workers are good here, where most of them are not in management or supervisory roles. There is literally nothing else good here.
The challengesThis list is not exhaustive. Terrible pay and penalty rates especially for night shifts. The induction is completely irrelavent and has no pertinence towards the warehouse roles. There is a lot of unsafe practices that occur in this warehouse. Significantly short on staff. There is never enough people to get tasks done, especially the laborious tasks such as lifting hundreds of boxes onto pallets. Usually, you are only doing this by yourself or with just one other person. Management will not understand this problem as they are lazy and sit inside all day being very ungrateful for your work. One of the cargo operations supervisors here acts very unprofessional and immature when presented and corrected with WHS legislation. This supervisor has the biggest cry and is unaware about what you do in the warehouse, being very ungrateful for your work. Do not work here at all. The managers are efficacious in the interview as they are desperate for staff. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE AT ALL COSTS

What the reviews say are true. My biggest hurdle was fatigue alongside the terrible shift times.
The good things- Fair pay for little qualifications required - Majority of your coworkers are reasonable - Fair progression into senior roles
The challenges- Management is incapable of providing a healthy experience to other employees. The way the structure of the workplace environment is layed out leaves a platform for unsatisfactory performance by HR and management, leading to you receiving such vague responses and little to no help. - The rostering is terrible. When you're in training you're told that you will have "rotating shifts", yet the rostering is like a rubiks cube being solved in 10 seconds. You will have a 3am start on Monday, followed by a 6pm start the next day, your sleep and health with suffer and decline unless you secure a full-time role and escape this nightmare of shift times. You have no control over your shift times other than asking your coworkers to swap shifts with you.

Terrible culture, my advice would be to avoid
The good thingsMost of the people I directly worked alongside were pleasant enough
The challengesConstant understaffing meant I’d be asked to extend more often than not. Big problems with management and HR, they fail to do their due diligence to ensure compliance with company policy and if they decided they didn’t like you or you didn’t fall within their bubble then that was too bad. Double standards in how rules were applied, it would be one set for the “outsiders” compared to everyone else. It would be ok for someone to go around threatening fellow workers and physically taking anger out on company property, but they’d get away with a slap on the wrist. Meanwhile people asking for legitimate support and guidance would be deemed problematic and become targeted. Code of conduct/company policy would be waved in some peoples’ faces meanwhile relatives of admin/corporate staff could be given jobs and it wouldn’t be seen as an issue. As soon as you’re on their radar they’ll keep tabs and try to get rid of you even if there’s precedent of others getting away with the same things.

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it's probably a duck.
The good thingsAs some reviewers have mentioned, there are some genuinely kind and hardworking people that work there. Some workers, who even with targets on their backs, will still take the time to provide valuable information and even support in your role, so you can avoid being a target yourself. At the end of the day, most people (and potentially yourself) are people with little or no qualifications/skills, in between jobs, or just trying to make money as best they can. Even if you're willing to put up with the workplace issues and work politics, if you can fly under the radar as best you can, it's very possible to get plenty of overtime (as they are always understaffed) and earn between $80k - $100k in a year in these roles....and all you're doing for the most part is throwing bags on and off a plane, or into a baggage belt.
The challengesHonestly, take the time to read the other reviews above and below, as a large majority of them are telling you exactly what is happening. It's no secret...training, management, work culture, equipment condition, lack of support (management and HR), lack of staff...all of them are poor in one way shape or form...and the company isn't proactive enough to rectify any these issues. Even trying to get your pay done correctly is a challenge. All these issues inevitably compound on themselves due to the same reason that plaques most 3rd party ground handling companies, high turnover. These and all the other issues mentioned earlier could be resolved if they commit to making more of an effort to becoming a proactive business. The company however seems to be very set in their ways and even enforces it's reactive decision making upon it's own workers, so it's no wonder you see so many of the same jobs being displayed here on Seek...the revolving door keeps spinning by their own hand.

The role offered fair pay and hours, but was ultimately undermined by poor management, culture, equipment, and overall work environment.
The good thingsThe pay and hours were fair, and when management supported you it was a good place to work. However, inconsistent leadership and poor communication made it difficult to maintain a positive work environment
The challengesPoor Management – lack of leadership support and inconsistent direction. Poor Culture – low morale, lack of teamwork, and negative work environment. Poor Equipment – outdated or poorly maintained tools and machinery. Poor Environment – unsafe, uncomfortable, or unsustainable working conditions.

If you can cope with the chaos, the money isn't bad.
The good thingsMoney is Decent, Union is very present, The Other Rampies are quite nice and are always willing to explain things, the comradery is unmatched because we all all going through the same things. If you don't laugh, you cry.
The challengesRostering is Terrible, Management is atrocious, the Ramp Manager is not a nice person and is Inconsistent with the information he provides, the shifts are not great times but good amount of hours, we are on 20 hour contracts and are all doing at least 45 hours a week.

Good employer, needs to improve on internal policies and communicationThe office culture is generally grounded and realistic. However, my experience has revealed a few areas for improvement. Firstly, there is a lack of clarity regarding company processes. Secondly, there is strong miscommunication between management and employees. In some instances, there appears to be favouritism. Lastly, the administration is slow. Nevertheless, these issues should not deter you from considering this workplace. Every workplace has its challenges, and the key is to identify if your potential department exhibits any of these issues and to what extent.

Poor communication and arrogant management, will make you take breaks at very start of your shift, wont let you have even a few hours off on one night of the week, need to take your kids to hockey after school on a Monday afternoon for about 3 hours? They don't care you must have literally nothing on in your life and no routine. They only let you swap 5 shifts a month. It's understandable in an airport environment however other places at the airport that offer the same role don't seem to have these issues. Other places you can be studying and work part time with no issues because they can actually manage a shift schedule. If you don't get the job don't worry, you've dodged a bullet.
The good thingsslightly better starting pay compared to other passenger service agent jobs, good stepping stone for career in aviation.
The challengesThe higher ups and main HR rep are very arrogant always insisting they are the best, They are not clear in their job advertisements and in the interview basically tell you that you cant have any commitments outside of the job. Will not let you have any small unavailability even on part time contract

I come from a family that works in aviation, in ground handling, and aviation security. They have told me the amount of high pressure I experience at check in and boarding is crazy for my pay grade. I started with 5 people on this airline now there is 3 of us, due to the miscommunication of the company to the employees on the hours, the pay, and voice of authority. The amount of passive aggressiveness and miscommunication you may experience from the reps, D1 and service desk of the flight is disgusting. PRM has less drama, however the shoes you wear as a women make it highly uncomfortable and unsafe in completing the job. I do not recommend this job as a career, instead a stepping stone in getting into the aviation industry.
The good thingsIt is short hours if you do check in, however if your on PRM (Passenger reduced mobility) it may be longer hours. benefits penalty rates, double pay/time half on public holidays , 5 weeks holiday a year, and sick days.
The challenges1. The micro-management on PRM. Low confidence in employees. 2. Insufficient training on airline check in for new staff. 3. Too many people with authority telling you conflicting things. 4. Lack of work life balance, you never leave on time. 5. No choice on which airline. 6. Toxic employees

Misleading description, avoid Menzies Aviation @ Melbourne at all costs.
The good thingsThe pay-rate but not worth the high workload you have to do compared to other contractors such as dnata
The challengesIncompetent management/admins. Inconsistent rosters will cause fatigue. Unprofessional HR, lack of support. You’ll start off in the baggage room no matter what level of experience you have. You will not do 75% of the duties listed in the job description. You WILL be terminated during probation.

The PM RADS team is amazing!
The good thingsThe best part of the job would be the PM Ramp Airport Duty Supervisors. They are great in all facets of their role and offer great support and leadership to the staff. Other great aspects of the job include the outdoor dynamic working environment, as well as the people that work alongside you. Plenty of opportunities for overtime.
The challengesIt is a fast paced role that can be very demanding with long hours, but at the end of the day it can be a great job if you choose to participate.

Brisbane Airport QLD 40087 to 8 years in the role, current employee
As an experienced ramp operator, I have expertly managed aircraft turnaround processes, coordinated ground support tasks, and ensured safe and timely operations in a high-pressure airport environment.
The good thingsBeing a ramp operator offers a dynamic and engaging work environment where you play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient turnaround of aircraft. You get to work closely with a dedicated team and contribute to the seamless operation of airport logistics. The job provides opportunities to develop valuable skills in equipment handling and coordination, and there’s a strong sense of accomplishment in seeing flights depart on time and safely.
The challengesThe role of a ramp operator can be physically demanding, requiring long hours of standing, lifting, and working in varying weather conditions. Coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously and managing the complexities of aircraft turnaround can be stressful, especially during peak times or when dealing with unexpected issues. Ensuring compliance with strict safety regulations and maintaining efficiency under pressure can also be challenging.

Overall, this role offers an enjoyable and rewarding experience for those who are passionate about airport operations. It is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to expand their knowledge and understanding of the inner workings of an airport.
The good thingsThis is an excellent opportunity for pilots or aviation enthusiasts who are eager to gain a deeper understanding of the behind-the-scenes operations of an airport. As a ramp officer, you will have the unique opportunity to be a part of the aircraft turn-around process and witness firsthand the coordination and effort that goes into ensuring a safe and efficient flight. This role is not only fulfilling but also humbling, as it allows you to gain a new-found appreciation for the hard work and dedication that goes into every aspect of the aviation industry. It is a perfect chance for those who are looking for a challenging and rewarding experience in the field of aviation.
The challengesWorking in a fast-paced environment can be both exhilarating and physically demanding.
