Prepare to feel your body in pain

The challengesAlcohol picking expect to move 200 boxes of heavy 20kg alcohol in around 45 mins. Worst DC Ive worked at. Ridiculous pick rates, want U to hit 100% but the system gives you silly orders with over 200 boxes of alcohol. Have to work 4 hours straight without a break. Workers have to work very unsafe to hit those rates of U get fired This is the DC that tries push you the hardest but pays the least. Better off going to Woolworths or Coles DC. This place needs to be unionised and managers need to get a wake up call over these ridiculous rates

Poor management, favouritism, no respect to the workers that ACTUALLY worked hard.

Most depressing place I have ever worked
The good thingsNot a whole lot to be honest.
The challengesIve been to funerals that were happier than this place. Bad pay, extremely high staff turnover. Don't even bother.

So many better options for work out there dont settle for this one it will drain your soul.
The good thingsNothing it was better years ago.
The challengesManagement was shocking, none of them ever knew what was going on. Get asked to fill in for someone away even if its not a department you like to or can work in for medical reasons eg freezer, next thing you know it's been decided thats your new roll.

The good thingsWorking a 4 day week (10 hour days), with every Friday off giving you a long weekend. Friendly fellow Storepersons.
The challengesMiddle Managers trying to hustle you for an extra few percent of performance while showing a completely different side of themselves to their boss. Toxic to say the least, and terrible communication thrown in too.

The challengesThe management needs an overhaul. The supervisors care about their KPIs more than the staff they are meant to manage. The fact the despatch leader can be a problem.

It was a disastrous experience - will never recommend any person to consider a role at Metcash
The good thingsMost of the people at Crestmead were decent folk
The challengesExecutive Management – very reluctant to support the change they claimed they wanted during the interview
Not very inclusive – will accept every person regardless of disability but will use mental illness against you when they feel it is appropriate
Guidance and support (nil)
Almost forced to be on site every day which goes against the grain of the apparent hybrid working model

If you are just wanting a basic warehouse role with no ambition to move up and do anything different, then this place might be ok if you don't mind low pay, however if you have drive then STAY AWAY
The good thingsThe ability to come to work, do a job, and switch off when you go home for the day is great. For the most part you get left alone to just do your job
The challengesManagement/Supervisors are so out of touch with what is happening on the floor. Supervisors are all too young with no experience in managing people and don't understand what a supervisor should be doing in 2024. Management, well you just don't see them, they don't communicate and are only looking for yes people.

Cushy if you just want to collect a monthly paycheque. Terrible place if you want to push for innovation and actually fix problems. Some time things are broken for a reason, so blame can be laid without pinning it on anybody in particular. This is precisely how Metcash works.
The good thingsFlexibility, work life balance. Although that has drastically changed since the new CEO took over.
The challengesClueless leadership. Toxic politics. Middle management is infested with incompetence.

The challengesThis company has no accountability or conscience of how they treat their staff. They will push you to your absolute limit then push you out the door. It doesn’t matter how hard you work they just want more.
