All Plans, No ProgressThere’s a dangerous pattern emerging: endless strategy, constant reshuffles, and political games at the top - while the people who actually run this network are left with scraps. We’re burning goodwill fast. Our frontline teams show up, deliver, and go above and beyond - but get little in return. Development is stalled, engagement is low, and trust in leadership is eroding. It’s time for executives to stop circling the issues and start owning the outcomes. Talk is cheap. Our people deserve investment, clarity, and real leadership - not another restructure, rebrand, or roadmap to nowhere. Bottom line - it's time for a change of leadership.

If you want a decent paying job with some perks and can go home with a care-free attitude after every shift and don't give a toss about office politics, it maybe the place for you, but if you care about safety or a career, etc.... Try V/Line instead.
The good thingsGood pay for what you do. There are some good and genuine people there... Few and far between though.
The challengesI was there 7 years. Is no rail career and utter ignorance to safety!! - Go V/Line! Full of nepotism and favouritism (no wonder it went through IBAC), very poor if not inept management, very back bitey, gossipy and back stabbing work environment.

The good thingsHigh wages. Great opportunities to develop professionally.
The challengesInternal politics. Typical big company attitude toward staff. Companies don't have a high turnover rate of staff for no reason.

Good place to start but not one to stay for someone early in their career
The good thingsFree public transport, good work/life balance, prestigious name in the industry for transitioning out
The challengesConfusing org structure leads to zero accountability, management not keen to improve efficiency, not willing to accept change, aging internal ICT infrastructure, general \"not my problem\" attitude across the business, no planning for career development in the project space

After a change of management in 2017, I observed employee sentiment drop rapidly.
The good thingsMetro Trains Melbourne as a company has a great working environment and culture, unless you work in the OCMS department.
The challengesOCMS offers an old school silo environment where the management doesn't care for the employees or even communicate with them.

Toxic work and management culture that does not follow what the company preaches. Keep away.
The good thingsThe work was there to be done. Interesting and challenging.
The challengesManagement. There is rampant lack of process and control in the infrastructure delivery department. Egotistical hierarchy of management that mai gains itself despite risk and safety issues.
