    A great place to work.
The good thingsThe people here create an amazing atmosphere. Everyone is so friendly. If you're a hard worker the only way is up if you're up to it. Plenty of diversity within this workplace with no racism or sexism to be found (at least from what I've experienced.)
The challengesUnfortunately management is lacking quite a bit. Staff changes have a snowballing effect in terms of the workload of those in the same department. This is mainly due to long processes to employ a replacement. Work can be a little repetitive.

    Only if you are desperate
The good thingsReaching the point where you don't care anymore and still being paid to achieve nothing. Also, hearing the scandals and rumours will keep you entertained, especially of employees that seem to regularly vanish.
The challengesHigh turn over of staff, lack of competent leadership. Terrible culture

Challening and rewarding work in a great team environment
The good thingsVery family friendly work place, always willing to help employees balance work and life, with flexible working hours. Lots of opportunities for learning and development.
The challengesThere is a perception that Council is not a nice place to work, but I have not experienced this. I think over time they meet the needs of individuals and the culture is much better than it used to be.
