A good first job opportunity, communication and understanding of staff would improve the experience.
The good thingsWorking at Mitre 10 was a good way for me to enter the workforce, learn customer service skills, and gain a deeper understanding of a different POS system.
The challengesCommunication between managers and staff could be improved on, and having a deeper understanding of employees and the problems they face such as ADHD and Autism would make working here more enjoyable.

A great "in-between" job whilst searching for a career.
The good thingsFeeling included, support. Slow paced, 1 hour lunchtime. Reasonable hours. Relaxed safety standards. The general public are very nice.
The challengesThe hourly rate is too low, the amount of double, triple, quadruple handling heavy items is endless.

Not A Place To Work While it had its good moments, it is not a place to work for career advancements. HR is out of it's depth and prioritise the wrong issues. Work hard to advance and being told you're not doing enough is both defeating and demoralising. plus being given higher responsibilities without the role or pay is not right
Talent Acquisition ManagerThank you for taking the time to write a review and share your feedback. We're glad to hear you had good moments. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss any specific concerns with you directly. Please reach out to our P&C team with more information.

If you are planning on working here have a backup
The good thingsThe camaraderie built between the floor staff over the shared disgust at management was the best part of working here.
The challengesManagers have no idea what they are doing. They either micro manage every aspect and screw it up for you or they offer no assistance when needed and the project is disrupted. Opportunities for growth in the business are offered but only the extremely thirsty boot lickers ascend. Also bonuses suck.

Not at all worth it, avoid at all costs.
    The good thingsNothing. Literally nothing.
The challengesManagement are a nightmare. The Timberyard manager I reported to was amazing. Every single other manager in AND outside of the warehouse were terrible. Good luck ever calling in for a day off if you need one. I got asked why I couldn't come in the afternoon after my grandad's funeral. Management are so out of touch with reality. There is a high turnover here for a reason. Management use a zoning loophole to pay warehouse staff a retail award.

    Just. Don't.
The good thingsStaff discounts. Some great staff.
The challengesManagement are micro-managers. Staff that work hard are given more and more to do. Lazy staff get away with it. Staff turn over is huge. Pay is not good, even for retail. And you don't get paid more even when you take on extra responsibilities.

Since it’s no longer a family business it’s simply been going downhill.
The good thingsGood working relationships have been made on the shop floor for the most part. Enjoyed working closely with those at the same level.
The challengesKeeping up with the company slogans and values when most of the management simply ignore or take no part in them. Management are very distant and unsupportive, often saying there’s a good chance for progression but with no action for majority of staff. Also ignoring safety protocols themselves but discouraging others from doing what they do.
