After working at Mortgage House for nearly 5 years, I have learned more here than anywhere I have worked in the past. The mentorship from Colleagues, Team leaders, Managers, all the way through to the Owner of the business is something that I will cherish and continue to draw on throughout the remainder of my career.
The good thingsMortgage House is a great place to work for a number of reasons - most of the management team are very approachable and personable, you can make lifelong friends and acquaintances as the interactions in the office are real and meaningful. In the lending team, you can earn a lot and gain even more in experience and business acumen if you are willing to work hard and take on/learn from feedback provided to you internally and from customers - there is a wealth of knowledge across the business that can set you up for success.
The challengesAs with any workplace there are challenges relating to decisions made by the buisness that either affect you directly or indirectly, however I feel as though these are subjective.

The good thingsThe people that work here make the days enjoyable. Work is challenging, and you are constant learning, as the company evolves. The CRM is one of the more user friendly systems available. Management are easily accessible and they have an open door policy so you can talk to them when necessary
The challengesTime management of numerous applications can be stressful

An excellent opportunity to understand the diverse Australian lending landscape whilst earning a marketing leading commission structure in a diverse and fun work environment.
The good things* Competitive commission structure and a streamlined approach to all processes.
* Direct accessibility between teams on a single platform allows for an organised loan processing.
* Flexible product range including loans that most banks don't write.
* Ample opportunities to learn the various facets of the lending world inc. SMSF, commercial, family pledge, company, non-conforming, trust and so on...
The challengesManaging multiple transactions can sometimes be overwhelming but there is plenty of support from peers and parallel colleagues.

The good thingsTechnology is under new management and couldn't be better! They understand what we need in order to perform at our best and have tried their very best to give that to us.
It is a very flat office - everyone is very approachable and easy to talk to.
The challengesInitially things/procedures weren't optimal so was constantly firefighting issues. But after several months of hard work and perseverance the system is in a much more stable state.

Being part of Mortgage House has been a great journey and it is exciting to part of the next stage of growth. You can’t look past the most amazing view in the Sydney!

The good thingsLove the company culture, the people, the work environment, the amazing 360 views of the harbour. Mortgage House provide career progression, training and options. Anything is possible if you want it. They also provide great incentives (flew award winners to Hawaii one year!)
The challengesBusy workload though this makes the day go quickly

A forward-thinking company in terms of technology but the managers fail to deliver on properly managing its staff
The good thingsA good company to grow your technical skills using cutting edge technologies and agile environments.It is a good place to learn about the mortgage business from ground up. A plethora of knowledge and expertise exist in this place regarding the lending business from the executives to the lending managers.
The challengesThe work hours can be long and unpredictable especially during release days. Mostly under staffed hence you end up doing more than you should. Managers can be micro managers at times and can add to the stress of delivery.
