A toxic, dystopian workplace where favouritism overrides merit, and innovation is avoided like the plague. Ironically, doing the right thing yields punishment, while those who regularly don't have the company's best interests at heart, are rewarded.
The good thingsSome talented professionals who are supportive team players & dedicated to the company's objectives, above their own ambitions, needs and health. Stability for those who are content with banal work tasks that are well-below their expertise & skills.
The challengesOut of touch management refuse to follow company policies & ignore industry best practice - more focused on protecting those with ulterior motives rather than progress company values & growth. No regard shown for staff welfare/wellbeing: wages half the industry average, no recognition of performance

The good things- great team culture - really nice friendly people who take their jobs seriously but will always make time to chat and help - customer is always first - professional approach - confidence in the products we sell which enables customer confidence - great management and leadership style
The challenges- process improvements as in most companies - staying on top of different internal systems

Great company to establish yourself, fantastic colleagues
The good thingsSome companies talk about flexible workplaces, others do it. Motorola is great in this regard, and supportive of work from home options even before COVID hit us all
The challengesSometimes may be a tad 'change resistant' but this can usually be worked around if flexible, and you know your stuff

Definitely not the highlight of my career.
The good thingsWorking with my peers however, I have enjoyed this in the majority of companies I have worked for.
The challengesSalesman led revenue focused company where implementation and customer support are afterthoughts. All based upon unsustainable workloads which apparently are demanded by customers.

When you enjoy what you do, for a company you believe in, it's not work.
The good thingsNever known such a large publicly listed company to care so much about their local staff. So very different to the last big Australian public company i worked for where the bottom line was all that mattered. Here people come first. Salary is great Benefits are great Work colleagues are great Flexible work arrangements are great
The challengesYes, long hours, but if you enjoy what you do, it's not work....

The ANZ business is loaded with self absorbed senior managers who are soley focused on numbers and the next tier in their own careers at the expense of other people, really poor leadership.
The good thingsScope to move internally
The challengesMany tiers of management, not agile at all, product quality deminishing, constantly changing organisational strategy, extremely high employee turnover.

Career opportunity starting with initial promise but opportunity of making a difference gradually faded due to management focus on tactical outcomes rather developing strategy.
The good thingsGood for young engineer starting his or her career to develop understanding of how an established company delivers to mission critical markets.
The challengesWith the focus on quarterly results, developing broader strategies and themes continues to be a challenge.
