Eight Mile Plains QLD 41135 to 6 years in the role, former employee
Senior leadership is unsupportive and demonstrates little regard for staff wellbeing or workload.
The good thingsThe purpose of the organisation is great & there are alot of good people trying to do the right thing. Initially this was a great place to work which really aligned to my personal values.
The challengesFavouritism and a lack of support from senior leadership have fostered a toxic workplace culture in which employees are treated as expendable, resulting in high turnover. Workloads are unrealistic, and unpaid overtime is expected rather than optional. Rapid growth and poorly managed mergers resulted in staff performing multiple roles with no increase in salary. Outdated, manual systems have failed to keep pace, placing increased pressure and stress on long-tenured staff. No recognition for hard work.

Prolific, toxic culture across human services, community services.
The good thingsThe pay and at times RDOs.
The challengesBlame culture to cover up, senior management’s incompetence, ongoing lack of care management of participants. There are some incredibly nasty people getting paid as managers who utterly ignore their portfolios and find entertainment in trying to harm other colleagues working there. The latest CEO has been terminated, hopefully new leadership will turn out better outcomes for participants.

Their primary purpose/cause is fantastic, Unfortunately its not reflected in their care for staff
The good thingsThe people - Supportive direct manager and team. The cause - providing supports to customers and seeing the positive impact it has
The challengesUnrealistic workloads, under resourced, existing staff expected to absorb extra work, long hours, unpaid overtime, no regard for wellbeing of staff, upper management do not listen to concerns, manual time consuming processes, salary is not reflective of workloads

A workplace filled with meaningful work, great people and opportunities to grow (and a lot of sweet treats).
The good thingsA supportive and collaborative team environment where I feel championed and valued. I get to work with people who genuinely care about the clients they support and the teams they’re part of and manage.
The challengesLike any big company, things can move a bit slowly at times, but there's always a focus on improving processes and making the company better along the way.

I do wish that circumstances permitted me to accept the role on offer...they would've been a great employer to spend some time working with.
The good thingsWent through the interview with Multicap EMP Brisbane and was close to being offered the job, but I could not continue due to family circumstances. Yet Multicap made several attempts and continued to try and find ways to accommodate my needs and make it work for me...although ultimately, I still could take on the role. I found this to be above-and-beyond and am impressed at their sincerity and effort. Multicap also seems to be genuinely working for the good of its customers (the people it supports).
The challengesMy observation is that it will continue to be a challenge for Multicap in finding the right people to suit the roles.in the organisation in the near future, in order to maintain the level of service to the people it supports. Multicap (as a whole might find) that with a little more tweaking of the roles on offer, this challenge can be met and overcome.

Working with Multicap has been such a journey and I look forward to continuing my career with them.
The good thingsI started working at Multicap as a disability support worker in 2021. I am now a Service Manager in the Brisbane North Region. Multicap gave me the opportunity to develop and grow over the past couple of years while providing consistent leadership training. The pay grade is above any other service provider I have worked with as well with is an added bonus!
The challengesThe challenges I face are minimal working with Multicap. Just like any other human service provider, there are challenges, but I always feel supported.
