What’s it like working at Murdoch Children's Research Institute?

    AI summary of recent reviews

MCRI offers a supportive and inclusive workplace culture where employees are united by their passion for children's health research. The organisation provides attractive benefits including salary packaging and generous annual leave, while maintaining a strong focus on work-life balance through flexible working arrangements. Employees particularly value the collaborative atmosphere and the opportunity to work with passionate, like-minded professionals.

However, some employees note areas for improvement, including the need for more consistent management support across departments. The research-based nature of many roles means that job security can be dependent on grant funding, which some find challenging. The fast-paced environment and open plan office setup can also present challenges for some staff members.

While I valued the friendships and support from some clinicians at MCRI, my overall experience was negatively impacted by the Clinical Trial Unit team, and I would not recommend working with them.
The good thingsWhat I liked most about my time at MCRI was spending time with my friends and connecting with some of the kind and supportive clinicians.
The challengesOne of the biggest challenges during my time at MCRI was the lack of support from some leaders and managers, and I encountered behavior and attitudes that made the environment feel exclusionary and disrespectful
