    Opportunities for both personal and professional development.
    The good thingsGreat opportunities for those who have a great work ethic want a good work/life balance. I have had opportunities to learn about several areas of the business and meet some really great people who care deeply for clients. It is also great talking to clients and helping them achieve their goals, it gives both personal and professional satisfaction.
    The challengesThe challenge for me was changing my own mindset and being open to thinking differently, being open minded and learning from those around me, and by doing this I have had life changing personal growth.

    I love making a difference every day
    The good thingsI came to work at MyBudget nearly 5 years ago. It was a huge career change for me, but I felt that the company values aligned with me. I had been a client in the past and knew how much the company cared about its clients, so when a job came about I was excited to apply. I started out as a Personal budgeting Specialist. This is a fast paced role that requires empathy, exceptional time management and some after hours work. I was in that role for 2 years before I applied to be a part of the training team. Although I had no formal training as a training officer, the leader saw my potential and was keen to get me in the role and then upskill me with a certificate IV in training and assessment. I have always felt supported by my leader, both personally and professionally. It is so great to work for a company that actually lives by their core values.
    The challengesAll roles at MyBudget take a lot of resilience and empathy. We are dealing with people and supporting them takes a strong quality of wanting to make a difference in people's lives. This job is not for people who just want to play small in life.

    Challenging and Rewarding
    The good thingsThe most rewarding job I have had, everyday is different. This is not your usual sales role, its helping people which is why I love it so much.
    The challengesThe hours can be long, and you have to be very resilient because you are dealing with peoples finances which can be an emotional topic.

    Great culture and growth
    The good thingsI’ve been working at MyBudget for almost two years now, and I can’t express how fulfilled it has made me feel. For most of my time here, I was at the forefront of our clients’ experience. I began in customer service on the phones and have since moved into a new role. It’s not always easy, and it’s not perfect, but what sets MyBudget apart is the team. A group of people who are committed to making a real difference in our clients’ lives and ensuring they receive the best possible value from our service. Not only this, but it’s a team that encourages you to grow, so you can put your best foot forward wherever you are. The amount of growth I’ve had personally and professionally over the past two years, or even just the past year, is incredible, and I could not have achieved this without the support of my leaders and the wider business. I would never have thought I’d have the tools, confidence, and support to achieve what I have or to move into a new role.
    The challengesIt can be a draining job due to the complexities of client calls.

    I don't get the Sunday night blues anymore.
    The good thingsEveryday I wake up and help people work through their fears, embarrassment, shame and confusion around the one thing we all think we should be able to handle. I have found helping others is helping me. I was one of those people before MyBudget came along. I had crippling debt, bad spending habits, impulsive decision making and zero savings. Yes, I earned good money, but of course, I spent good money. I know what it is like to be at the bottom and having to pretend everything is fine and life is good. I help people build confidence, repair trauma and have better relationships with their loved ones because they are present when not under the weight of financial stress. I see lives change everyday. Shame and embarrassment is just as heavy on the chest as the debt that puts us there.

    The challengesUnderstaffed, overworked, always expected to do free OT, Micro-managed to make you a chair jockey. Claim to higher opportunities but never realised - alot of "free trials" turning into "you arent quite ready for that role yet"; (my experience was from 2018/19) The company was in limbo between being a call centre and having time constraints and actually HELPING their customers

How you can impact peoples lives over two hours of an appointment is very inspiring. The management team are very supportive as well as my colleagues.

    Genuine staff, managers with very poor skills and you will be disposed of easily.
    The good thingsCulture is very diverse and staff are genuinely nice. The team truly care for their clients across all departments.
    The challengesReceived no formal training. No mentoring offered and severely outdated resources available. Management do nothing to help, the ones calling the shots have no people skills, usually a key skill required for managers and leaders. KPI’s reminded daily in a negative manner by management. False and misleading expectations set for bonuses and renumeration.

    The challengesThe long hours can be hard sure, and covid has shaken up the world for employers and employees alike... but the reason for those long hours is what has me hooked.
