    Disappointing and not worth the headache.

    The challengesSenior management, Regional managers pushing unnecessary upsells, not supporting the stores they are in charge off, being paid monthly. Exceeding targets consistently and being told “it’s not good enough” and “you’re over compensated for the work you do”.

    Ok if you want a standard mechanic role, don’t expect big jobs or paid overtime. Area manager push to upsell things like wheel alignment and shock absorbers

    Id work for Mycar again in a heartbeat and I would recommend anyone else interested in a career in the mechanical trade to do the same.
    The good thingsA big company that actually does care about its employees the way they claim. At Mycar you are far more than just a number attached to a disposable body. Career development opportunities are available, you will always be given a fair go, they understand that people sometimes have challenging circumstances to work through, hard work is rewarded
    The challengesinternal memos tend to require repetitive follow up to be actioned, qualified mechanic to apprentice ratios are less than ideal in some cases

    The challengesLearning new machines such as the wheel alignment and learning how Alignments work. I always came from a dealership where tyres were rarely touched so going into a industry where it is mainly older vehicles and more issues, you learn more.

    Not the place to do a apprenticeship
    The good thingsPay rate is higher than the apprentice award rate
    The challengesVery high expectations, work load was too much. lack of care to work being completed. Yes the pay rate is higher but the work load you get doesn't make it worth while. Will learn a lot more at a smaller mechanics shop.
