    Lack of respect for staff.
The good thingsI loved the training nights and constant education that was offered.
The challengesI worked there before and after the financial troubles and the way they pushed us to make sales was insane.

I will always have amazing things to say about this brand. I'm taking away a lot of love for the product and client base ! Very thankful for the support of management.
The good thingsThere are a lot of good things about napoleon ! 40% off for staff! The freedom compared to other places is great. Amazing for career development and building your artistry skills.
The challengesThe only challenging times I suffered were lack of staff and working alone ALOT!

    Short and sweet...
The good thingsTeam culture within smaller groups is great however the overall expectation is unrealistic with a total lack of empathy and understanding.
The challengesIt starts from the top, there are too many people on a power trip and they minimize the hard work put in by people who go above and beyond.

Rewarding role working alongside great HQ Team
The good thingsNew management (since early 2019) are fantastic to work for. CEO is relatable and transparent. Company culture is relaxed and friendly but every one works hard.
The challengesUnder new management (since early 2019), many roles and responsibilities had to be updated and structure had to be established within the business. While challenging at the time, these changes were very positive overall.

The challengesTime frame to do makeovers was quite daunting ..! to deliver the best results a realistic time frame for paying clients was needed

Only retail focused, only care about sales and if you don’t make targets you get treated poorly so that you’re forced to quit
The good things40% off products, good uniform and getting to do makeup
The challengesExpected to take work home with you as a manager, working alone most of the time and having to close the store if you need a bathroom break ect, constant pressure on making target and little to no training on makeup.

I would never work for this company ever again.
The good thingsThe customers were lovely and loyal.
The challengesQuite possibly every challenge a retailcompany could have; no positive reinforcement, no adequate training for a brand that boasts expert makeup artistry, no incentives, low salary, horrible management and even worse head office management.

I received great training when starting with the company, but management offered no support and I was treated like a robot.
The good thingsThe staff discount was decent and Christmas in 2017, 2018 and 2019 a present was arranged for stafff
The challengesThe team culture was a challenge along with other team members having no accountibility, integrity and management pushed to have makeovers (including selling products to customers that walk in store and processing the sale for the client who had her makeup applied) completed in 30 on a Saturday whilst only 2 staff members worked. No lunch breaks were granted and it was impossible to go to the bathroom because the store was overbooked at all times on a Saturday.

    Waste of time.
The good thingsThe only positive thing was being able to makeovers as much as I did.
The challengesThe company has no idea how to treat employees.no sense of gratitude and no sense of cabability with management. Young and experienced girls thinking they understand what management is when they don't.

    Okay to work for.
The good thingsMy store is pretty laid back and the people I work with are fun and we all get along. Wages are excellent for casuals. Discount on products.
The challengesNo progression. No perks or benefits, only a discount on items. Head office sets rosters based on sales and disregards their loyal employees who've been there longer.

MONEY HUNGRY & NOT WORTH YOUR TIME
The good thingsmade a few nice friends, that's it.
The challengesKPIS / TARGETS / SALES that's all they care about... they don't even care for customers. I was told to ONLY speak to clients about products whilst they are getting a make over. They Blame staff for no customers. They hire unqualified artists and are ALWAYS under staffed.. No weekends off with Napoleon Perdis. and in the end your nothing but a number to them.

    Worst year of my life.
The good things40 per cent discount off products.
The challengesPressure to make unrealistic daily budgets and pushing customers to buy more products. Don’t even bother calling in sick because you will be told “it’s too late to do anything” and to “find your own replacement”. Spoken down to and constantly being told to change myself. No proper training provided on makeup skills it was always about selling. You were lucky enough to get a lunch break or to finish on time. Managers would get mad if you were unavailable to go into work last minute. Hours constantly cut down. Worst place I have ever worked for and the biggest waste of my time. I would never recommend anyone work for this disgusting company who clearly don’t care at all about the staff. Don’t even bother!

Honestly the worst year of my life.
The good thingsI loved being able to do many makeup applications, it really helped me to develop my skills in makeup!
The challengesWorking alone is boring, extreme pressure to meet unrealistic sales targets, punished and criticised when you don't, but when you do, there is no reward. My store made weekly sales target 8 weeks in a row and we got nothing for it, yet when we weren't making budget, we were being constantly criticised. There is no commission for making budget, so what motivation do employees have to make it? All this company cares about is money - you could do the most amazing makeup application and a customer could be so incredibly happy with it, but all they will ask is how much did you sell. Management are highly unprofessional and immature. When you first start, they almost brainwash you into thinking their company is incredible and you are so lucky to be working there, which I believe is why many girls continue to work there. Overall you just do not feel respected or valued as an employee here whatsoever, and it is best to just avoid at all costs.

    Biggest Joke of a \"makeup brand\"
The good thingsThe only good thing about this job is you get to do alot of makeovers and enhance your skills.
The challengesThere is absolutely no work / life balance, your only days off will most likely be tuesday and wednesday, but dont expect you wont get bombarded with messages from your management about covering shifts because there is no staff, and you will most likely spend your days off completing weekly / monthly online modules about product knowledge. The company teaches you to shove products down clients mouths. They have ridiculous budgets and KPIs of how much youre expected to sell. The management are so out of touch and arent taking note on the high turnover of staff. Dont expect to learn any makeup skills working here either, the only skills the \"education\" team are passing on are Napoleon Perdis' old fashioned prehistoric techniques.
