On the actual work itself, it's a very good opportunity to work in this area of technology and on these advance exclusive machines serving an important function in big industries. But the people who are in the position of managing and organizing and handling people are not that good now. They don't follow good standard of rules anymore specially on the safety and the susceptibility of field engineering people to unreasonable assignment at a given time and situation.
The good thingsChance to work in the big retail and banking industry.
The challengesAdvance system and complex technology solutions and services.

All in all a good company to work for if you are lucky enough not to be displaced by subcontractors.
The good thingsThis company affords a good measure of flexibility & trust, & generally receptive to accomodate personal preferences & work life balance. I loved the freedom of autonomy & regional travel.
The challengesKeeping abreast of the constantly evolving IT & hardware changes was somewhat demanding for an average wage range.

    I don't recommend working here
The good thingsWork life balance is the only good thing.
The challengesManagement sucks. No one knows what to do in a project. I had 5 managers changes over 2.5 years. Package is average at best and they don't like to review your performance that often. Everything is at slow turtle pace.

No recomend until Australian managment changes
The good thingsCan go home early if work finish early.
The challengesNo formal training on proprietary NCR products and expected to fix issues by learning on the go. Most managers are not trained on management. Every 6 months redundancy. Lots of internal politics. No career path

A enthusiastic engineer who loved scenic views and challenging job, perfect job for me.
The good thingsCar for both work and personal. Friendly environment from management and customer service. Really enjoyed the days. If you like to view the country side view and enjoy driving around , this is the best job.
The challengesCall center people sometimes cracks your temper. Don't expect answers from technical support, just ask colleagues or read the guide. Sometimes you have to work late, but reward is much better than other places.

    Great place to work!
The good thingsAmazing teamwork amongst employees (\"associates\" as they refer to employees). NCR is an industry leader and you will be working with cutting edge technology. NCR has well established structures for transferring skills to new hires.
The challengesDecisions are not always approved quickly, NCR is a huge conglomerate as such small issues can go through many levels before approval. Fresh/new ideas are not always welcome, this is an organization which has employees who have been there for donkey years and some are set in their ways.

Quickly! Close this chapter! And forget about NCR!! Good riddens....
The good thingsSeriously! Can't think of any. No one ever turned up to the office, in fact everybody did their best to avoid the place. Senior managers weren't people leaders, in fact weren't leaders at all. Very weak management! !!
The challengesStaying positive in such a depressing environment. Senior managers avoided ownership of any process issues but insisted on pushing down.Hopeless!!!
