New Zealand Natural Premium Ice Cream is a global franchise network based in Auckland, New Zealand. It operates as an international franchisor of ice cream, frozen yoghurt, smoothie and juice parlours and mini parlours.New Zealand Natural began as a small ice creamery in Christchurch in New Zealand's South Island in 1984 that specialized in ice cream with no artificial colours or flavours. Rael Polivnick, a South African entrepreneur and Australian resident, met the owner on a plane shortly after it opened, and this chance meeting led to him opening a store at Bondi Beach in 1985. Polivnick settled on a franchising model as the best way of growing the business, and the first franchised store was opened in 1990.Source: This is an extract from the company's own website.

It was educational and I'd work there again.
The good thingsSomewhat regular hours which was great for a casual job. Paid minimum wage which is fine for the job. A good way to meet people from all over.
The challengesHad to take on a lot of responsibility that wasn't warned about upon being hired. No breaks and nowhere to sit during 7.5 hour shifts. Late nights.

Good if you don't mind working alone
The good thingsSatisfactory wage (in line with Fast Food Award). Had a lovely time when I did get to work with co-workers (2/12 hours per week) and the management was for the most part understanding and very friendly. Not a difficult position at all.
The challengesThe only issue was the hours and the lack of contact with people, I started out working 10 hour shifts on my own the whole day with very few customers. It was very boring and exhausting as there was no seating provided. Also no discounts or free samples or anything which is hard when you're working with yummy ice cream all day. Personally, I also found it difficult to feel proud of where I was working.
