Overall, working at Ollie’s Place could be very challenging because you don’t receive any support from management (nor from other managers from other stores)
The customers are your priority, they come into the store and purchase the beautiful clothing what Ollie’s Place have to offer, they’re the ones (customers) that make your day successful.
The good thingsThe good things would be:-
Helping customers with their purchases for their children clothing, seeing kids deciding which clothes they like (they pretty much liked all of the styles on the racks) & Helping customers choose which gift to purchase (majority of them buys multiple items you have showed them)
Arranging the stock/clothing in their story as per seasonal storybook.
Merchandising was great and enjoyable to do, especially visual merchandising on mannequins.
The challengesThe challenges would be:-
Working at Ollie’s Place, there is No Headoffice Personnel (there’s an office but you’re not allowed to contact them)
Everything goes through the State Area Manager, only helpful if in a good mood on the day.
Also, the height level of the shelving/racks are much too high, customers would get annoyed because they were unable to reach the clothing on the top rack (while you’re serving another customer, they didn’t want to wait, so they try to reach the clothing on the very top rack, which causes the clothes to come tumbling down)
You’re constantly moving the clothing/stock around when they arrive, to make room to put them into their stories.
You’re forever going up and down the ladder to put stock on the racks.
