Fantastic workplace culture with the flexibility many people dream of!
The good thingsThis is easily the most supportive workplace I have ever been a part of! A very refreshing environment, which is complemented by high quality products and innovation. Further, the company offers real flexibility between working from home and at the office, as opposed to many organisations in Australia and abroad. Finally, my team is a lot of fun to work with!
The challengesThe company has been through significant transformation in recent years, which has placed stress in certain areas. A silo approach can sometimes arise, but appears to be improving across the business.

Great culture of helpful and enthusiastic people working towards a common goal.
The good thingsThe people! The purpose! The values! I have enjoyed every minute of my short time at Olympus. I feel that I'm being set up to succeed. I feel valued and supported. Culture is driven from the top by empathetic and compassionate leaders.
The challengesStarting a new job mostly working from home is challenging however I'm very comfortable with how the organisation onboarded me.

Join for the innovative products and stay for the employee benefits!
The good thingsFortunately there are many good things to write about. I've been with the company for over 10 years and have had a number of development opportunities which have helped me progress my career. The business has recognised my hard work and strengths and has been supportive of me wanting to grow. There are a number of appealing employee benefits but the stand out for me has been how the company has supported their employees during Covid and the ongoing flexibility they now offer as a result. On a business front, Olympus products are gold standard. We are at the forefront of innovation and market leaders within several procedural areas. For more than 10 years I've watched the company expand rapidly but never before have I seen the global focus on progressing as a true Medtech leader. There are many innovations and improvements planned for the coming years and its an exciting time to be a part of this growth and transformation. I envisage more opportunities within Olympus and look forward seeing what the future holds.
The challengesThey run a tight ship and so resources are limited. There is also some gaps within processes which can lead to frustration and halters efforts to be agile and efficient. You need to be realistic about what you can achieve and take time to understand the business structure so you can work around these issues. The positive is that management acknowledge these challenges and are supportive of helping to find solutions.

Olympus CommunicationsThank you for taking the time to share feedback on your experience as a 10+ year Olympus Australia employee. It is comforting to read that you feel supported and recognised for your efforts. We are so proud that our people drive a strong culture of integrity, unity, empathy and agility with a long-term view. We appreciate that over the span of more than a decade, you would have seen a lot of transformation at Olympus, in many ways it has all been leading up to this new dawn as a medtech company. We are excited to continue the journey together. We are proud of our people for their dedication during a period of significant change that has had an impact on workload. We are committed to putting our people first, encouraging balance and acting on all feedback. Thanks again.

A great place to work with good people and career opportunities.
The good thingsOlympus is a company that really does care about it's people. They are always improving ways of working and offering great benefits. Additionally, there is lots of opportunity for growth and development within the organisation for those who want it. Overall, the people you work with at Olympus really make coming to work each day worthwhile. There is a great company culture of support and celebrating peoples achievements.
The challengesThe company can at times be a little too process heavy which can sometimes stifle creativity and agility. Additionally, Olympus sometimes can stretch people a little too far and not have enough resources allocated to teams.

A business working to improve culture and structure to ensure its rapid growth is sustainable and able to meet the ever growing needs of the customer and market
The good thingsOpportunities to cross collaborate across different business areas and increase awareness of different functions via nominating for projects
The challengesThere is a silo mentality in some business areas and lack of awareness as to how they can support the overall improvement of the business, and ultimately themselves as individuals

A company doing amazing things, with a great team passionate about change.
The good thingsIn working at Olympus over the past 4 years I have been given opportunity's to further my career and move roles to get a feel for other areas of the business. I highly value Olympus and the work that we do as a company and the values it has. We set out to makes people lives healthier so that we are all around to enjoy the important things in life. In 2020 I was fortunate enough to be nominated and make the final 3 in the OAZCA Support award. This an all company award that recognizes individuals going beyond their role and being noticed by peers for doing so. I still can't get my head around the fact that I was nominated I feel truly humbled and blessed to work for a company that make you feel appreciated as they do.
The challenges2020 brought it's own challenges with COVID-19 setting in and a change in the way that we worked. We had to learn to function as a wider team remotely. Often at times we can feel disconnected from other teams whilst in the office so this added to that disconect.
Olympus CommunicationsThank you for taking the time to leave this review. It is great to hear your positive feedback especially regarding your OAZCA nomination. We truly believe in giving recognition where it is deserved and celebrating our staff for their incredible achievements. We are proud to have dedicated employees, such as yourself, that embody our core values to help make peoples lives healthier, safer and more fulfilling. 2020 has provided many challenges - especially feeling disconnected during remote working. We are always looking to improve how we can help our staff feel more connected whether that be while working from home or in the office. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and will be taken on board to help us all connect better.

I love working at Olympus. It's the best kept secret in the Medical Device industry, and I would encourage those that want to be part of a great company to consider a role at Olympus.
The good thingsGreat company culture, great people, great products. The organisation is looking to become a bigger player in the medical device industry, and making changes to ensure that they can continue to grow. A lot of appetite for positive change. The company is better resourced than anywhere i have previously worked with regards to support functions and people.
The challengesThe Olympus range of products are all of high quality, and because of this typically attract a premium price. This can mean that its hard to compete where clinical preference/differentiation isn't important to the end user or purchasing department. That's why we seek to acquire and develop the best sales people possible (YOU!).

Olympus CommunicationsThank you for leaving such a positive review! We appreciate you taking the time to acknowledge our fantastic products, people and evolving culture as we seek to establish ourselves as a truly global MedTech company. Whilst we represent great products across three distinct business segments (medical, scientific solutions and consumer), without great people we wouldn’t be able to come close to maximising the potential of our product offering. We’re always on the lookout to develop our own talent as well as acquire some of the best out in the market, and your positive feedback will no doubt play a valuable role in assisting this process. Thanks again!

Great products, culture and growth opportunties
The good thingsI have worked at Olympus for over 6 years now. As anyone who has ever worked in Medical Devices can attest, this is along time! I have really enjoyed my time at the company, I have felt empowered to make decisions and influence change. I have progressed through a number of levels within sales and have felt supported by my managers and the broader team. Working during the COVID-19 pandemic has further stregthened my loyalty to the company. Management have been informative, suppportive and available. Understanding the impact that this situation has had on their employees mental health has also been heartening. Representing market leading equipment in the medical space is exciting and rewarding. Olympus is a dynamic organisation that is growing and I am excited to see what the future brings.
The challengesOccasionally, there is the challenge of overcoming silos. However, this is definitely something the company is putting effort into overcoming.
Olympus CommunicationsAfter six years, it is great to read such a positive review. We really appreciate it. Thank you for providing an insight into your development at Olympus over the time you have been here. Ongoing improvements in career development as well as improving communications and cross-functional activity to help reduce silos has been a focus for a substantial amount of time, and it’s encouraging to read your experience of this. Whilst the pandemic was an unexpected occurrence, our determination to provide job security for our staff during the COVID-19 period of uncertainty is something our entire organisation is both extremely grateful and proud of. Our staff do an outstanding job working with our customers, representing our products and brand, so doing our best to look after them in this tough time is a stance we felt appropriate. We hope your time at Olympus continues to go from strength to strength and it is safe to say we’re excited about the future too!

Great place to work with amazing people and a great culture.
The good thingsI have been working for Olympus for almost 2 years and thoroughly enjoy working for such a great company. The people are amazing, always willing to lend a helping hand and are passionate about what they do. Managers and senior leaders genuinely care about our well being, and in particular during the COVID-19 pandemic they have been transparent, accessible and supportive which has really helped me through such challenging times. The culture at Olympus is great, with support for flexible working, work-life balance and recognition which helps me feel supported and valued at work. Olympus is growing and has a desire to embed a culture of continuous improvement, leading to various opportunities for career development and learning.
The challengesWith the business growing and lots of changes happening there are positives, however also some downsides. Sometimes it can be difficult to get things done as there are many priorities that can sometimes conflict.
Olympus CommunicationsThank you for taking the time to leave such a great review. We take heart from your experience which reflects the cultural, work-life balance and career development journey we have been on over many years. In addition, our ability to provide job security for our staff during the COVID-19 pandemic is something our entire organisation is both extremely grateful and proud of. As you pointed out, there is rapid and positive change happening and by embedding a continuous improvement culture, we are confident we will achieve ongoing and sustainable gains that ultimately improve the customer and employee experience. There will be challenges and at times conflict along the way, but we are committed to staying the course. We hope you continue to enjoy your time at Olympus!

A brand to be proud of, with a variety of directions your career can take.
The good thingsA great brand encompassing a diverse sales organisation, albeit sometimes slow, innovative pipeline with a renewed focus on improvement and challenging previous operational ideals. Supportive management and great people. A good long term employer
The challengesStill process heavy, limited empowerment, approval by multiple levels and delays, but over the years has improved and the company has shown an appetite to change / improve this, even investing considerably in transforming these issues into more customer and staff-centric approaches.
Olympus CommunicationsThank you for your positive review. It’s great to see your appreciation for our brand and continued history of innovation, it really is a source of significant pride for all our staff. We’re also encouraged by your feedback around the people you work with and our ability to provide long-term employment, this is in line with our aspirational vision of wanting our staff to choose Olympus for life. Our systems and processes have come a long way, but at the same time we acknowledge there is still significant room for improvement. As you pointed out, we’re committed to change and are making positive strides and by embedding a continuous improvement culture, we’re confident we’ll achieve ongoing and sustainable gains in this space. Thanks again!

The good thingsAmazing people. Fantastic global brand. World-leading products with solid market share. Great culture. Flexible working conditions. Strong desire for improvement. Excellent historical long-term growth. Stable industry.

Olympus CommunicationsThank you for your positive review. We’re really proud of our brand, history of product innovation, evolving culture and most recently, our ability to provide job security for our staff during the COVID-19 pandemic. Great place to work/amazing culture !
The good thingsI started working at Olympus only 8 months ago and I have been truly enjoying my experience so far. I felt like a part of the BIG OLYMPUS family immediately after joining. Olympus is a great place to work if you want to work for a company that values culture. The management is very supportive and easy going/approachable. It’s a busy environment but you always get help if you feel swamped. The people are great - ALWAYS willing to help, passionate and caring about what they are doing. At the end of the day, we are making peoples lives better and safer !
The challengesThe work/life balance is great but you feel guilty leaving on time as there is so much to do.

One of the best Medical companies I have worked for!
The good thingsWith Coronavirus hanging about, I have been working from home full time, and, when normality returns, I look forward to being able to continue this arrangement for part of the week. I absolutely love the work life balance this opportunity brings! Hugely reduced commute time equals more time to exercise and enjoy life! We have been resourced with all we need to operate an inbound customer call centre from home. With frequent communication from upper and immediate management levels I feel well connected to my workplace and well supported. Add to this my awesome team mates and the Shining Stars recognition program and my experience of Olympus has been a very positive one!
The challengesSome areas within the business are unable to embrace the changes that come with growth, this causes inefficiencies when processes are not utilised as intended.

Olympus CommunicationsThank you for sharing such positive feedback. The COVID-19 pandemic has helped showcase that our systems and processes have come a long way and can genuinely support ongoing flexible working arrangements. This unique situation has also seen our senior leadership and management teams further adopt technology as an effective and often primary means of communication and we’re glad to see this has contributed to you feeling well connected. Embedding a culture of continuous improvement is an ongoing change management journey which will see varying levels of adoption, but we’re determined to maintain our course and take as many of our staff along as we continue to evolve our ways of working. Thanks again for taking the time!

A wonderful place to work and I highly recommend Olympus as a place to work.
The good thingsThe Company is very open to providing career opportunities to staff to participate or manage initiatives with a view of making Olympus a better place to work. The way in which the Company has managed COVID-19 is outstanding and there is an overall feeling that senior leaders care about our people. Communication has been regular, transparent and informative. It's time like these make you realise how proud you are to work for Olympus.
The challengesOlympus is a great place to work but there is always improvements required to systems and processes to leverage new technology, automate non-value add activities and improve information and analytics.

    Don't waste your time
The good thingsThere's not many. I made some great friends. There's a few different industries within the wider brand and you can learn a lot.
The challengesOpportunity only comes to those who are in with the right people.Abysmal project record and I won't even start on how terrible management are and some of the decisions i've seen that frankly caused me serious concern for the health and safety of the staff. I would not recommend going anywhere near Olympus.
Olympus CommunicationsThank you for your review and we’re sorry your experience wasn’t a good one. Regarding developing staff, in the last two financial years we’ve seen a significant increase in internal employee promotions. We consider these staff promotions richly deserved, based on merit and the hard work of the relevant staff members, and in general, we’ve received great internal feedback. Career development is an important strategic focus for our organisation as we look to improve the employee experience, however, this also needs to be driven by the individual. Regarding our project record, the last two years has seen our Business Transformation team achieve significantly improved outcomes in the project delivery space with zero projects having stopped or failed during this time, and a number having been rolled out that have generated significant improvement within our organisation. As with all vast programmes of work, the delivery schedule can often shift due to a wide range of reasons, however, we are committed to transforming our organisation as we seek to never be the cause of our customers’ downtime.

Olympus CommunicationsThank you for your positive review. Work life balance represents an on-going focus for our organisation with purchased leave, work from home arrangements and our dress for your day policy designed to give our staff options that bring flexibility to their working arrangements, and subsequently, help facilitate the achievement of greater levels of work life balance for our employees. In addition, we appreciate you taking the time to acknowledge our fantastic and talented staff. Olympus has a warm and inviting culture which can be hard to find in a medium - large company, and although we have some growing pains, it's nice to see an organisation that can call them out and want to genuinely change. I would definitely recommend this
The good thingsAmazing people, very warm and friendly working environment, growing rapidly so there is plenty of opportunity, working towards the right direction, continually working on better flexible work arrangements, great CSR and Well-being program, managers that genuinely care about me - professionally and personally!
The challengesCurrently going through a growth spurt which has it's pros and cons - cons being systems and processes still trailing behind, and sometimes, peoples mindsets of \"we've always done it like this\"; it can sometimes take a long time to get something done; we are not as agile as we would like to be - we need to change quicker.
Olympus CommunicationsThank you for leaving such a positive review. We appreciate you taking the time to acknowledge our flexible work arrangements, growing CSR and wellbeing programs which are all key focus areas of continuous improvement for our organisation. Most importantly, thank you for mentioning our fantastic people. Our staff play a vital role in defining our workplace culture and experience, and whilst we represent great products, our people are ultimately tasked with maximising the potential of our product offering, so providing them with a strong and supportive environment to let them do their best work is critical to us. As you highlighted, we have indeed experienced a growth spurt, with strong year-on-year growth over the last decade. Subsequently, we’ve made continuous improvements to systems and processes over the years and our dedicated Business Transformation program is focused on delivering significant positive change, and we are seeing some fantastic outcomes from their efforts. Finally, we’re conscious that people deal with change differently and as part of our substantial resource allocation into our Business Transformation program, change management is a large focus as we aim to hit the mark more often and deliver positive change with greater speed and agility.

Olympus is a place I've gone grow quite fond of over the years and whilst it may not be perfect, year on year it's gotten a significantly better and I question just how many better places to work in the same industry their might be!
The good thingsThis is a continuously growing company in a very strong and secure industry (namely medical) that can withstand downwards economic trends, i.e. a GFC like event. I have worked with talented individuals with the strength of talent only rising as the company has grown and have been given the opportunity to work in a variety of roles.
The challengesRapid organic growth and the need to scale has meant systems and processes were never designed with such expansion in mind This is beginning to change however with new platforms being implemented and a large scale, multi-year initiative underway designed to improve the external and internal customer experience.
Olympus CommunicationsThank you for leaving such a positive review. We’re really pleased to see this sort of feedback from a current employee. In the current financial year, we’ve seen a large increase in internal employee promotions, which is an important strategic focus for our organisation as we look to improve career development and the employee experience. We also agree the year-on-year growth experienced by our organisation has been remarkable and whilst we’ve made continuous improvements to systems and processes over the years, our dedicated Business Transformation program is continuing to deliver significant positive changes in this space, and we are seeing some fantastic outcomes. Keep an eye out for further developments in the short-to-medium term.

Lack of long term view in developing staff and providing opportunities to grow with the company. These result in too many great people leaving the company as their talents are wasted.
The good thingsMy immediate team was awesome. A wonderful group of supportive, knowledgeable and diverse individuals that goes above and beyond every single day. Great modern office with plenty of on site parking
The challengesVery little collaboration across the various departments with too many people including those in management position not been held accountable for poor performances.
Olympus CommunicationsThank you for your review and we’re sorry your experience wasn’t a good one. It's great to hear that you saw our staff and modern facilities as positives. Regarding staff development, most recently, we’ve seen a large increase in internal employee promotions, which is an important strategic focus for our organisation as we look to improve career development and the employee experience. We recognise our cross-functional collaboration has scope for improvement, and this is being directly addressed by our dedicated Business Transformation program. A core focus for the group is on improving collaboration amongst departments through greater transparency, process re-design and real-time reporting tools. Finally, we take poor performance seriously and work quickly to support the line manager and employees with appropriate tools, and a accountability framework with the aim of facilitating improved outcomes. We want people to ‘Choose Olympus for Life’ and understand that one element of improving the employee experience is ensuring poor performance is swiftly identified and treated as an opportunity for organisational improvement.

A great place to make a difference
The good thingsMy immediate team is fantastic. More widely, there are many intelligent, smart people who genuinely want to improve the status quo, make it an even better place to work and also enhance the experience for our customers.
The challengesSome people might be wary of change, therefore new initiatives or suggestions for improvement may take some time to gain traction.
Olympus CommunicationsThank you for leaving such a positive review. We appreciate you taking the time to acknowledge our fantastic and talented staff. Whilst we represent great products, without great people we wouldn’t be able to come close to maximising the potential of our product offering or providing the best possible customer experience.
