A frustrating experience in a workplace that lacks vision and fails to empower its people
The good thingsThe staff for the most part are friendly
The challengesThe owners and management show limited empathy toward employees and their personal circumstances, focusing heavily on micromanagement and fault-finding rather than supporting growth and development.

Glad I got out and went elsewhere.
The good thingsThe other staff members
The challengesNot a healthy work environment. Staff are very unhappy. Watched on the cameras. Overworked, underpaid. No future planning by management. Owner isnt present, she would rather go to her farm than run the company.

Great fun with great people, highly recommend Orbit Bunbury.
The good thingsThe Bunbury store has a great atmosphere, the manager is excellent and bit of job variety servicing and installing in the south west on top of sales. On the job training, even if you're not into fitness you will pick it up very fast. The Bunbury team have a lot of integrity in terms of sales allocation and putting returning customers sales through the initial team member that inquired for them. Modern tools provided for ease of service and you generally stay pretty fit working this job. Customers are 99% of the time incredibly grateful if you can solve their minor queries and will usually generate repeat sales. Had a blast working here and if my mortgage wasn't bending me over a barrel I would still be there today.
The challengesSales targets very high considering we would get weeks with maybe 5-8 walk in's per day. We would occasionally have to haul out a ton of gear to a home in Margaret River or Collie or something and it wouldn't even be our sale, it would be the online team's but we would have to spend 3 hours off the shop floor when hitting commission is already hard. Working alternating weekends buggers you if you play social sports of have to get to kids footy/softball/dance etc.

Very unsettling environment many of the staff have no idea how to behave in a workplace and treat other staff members respectfully especially management. Many staff behaved quite aggressively while I worked there which was quite scary.
The good thingsUniform is nice and nice work location.
The challengesNo job security as the owner is never there and can’t decide what they are going to do for the future of the business.

Nasty behaviour is a constant from the managers in this company and the owner is never there to stop it and doesn’t want to hear when staff are unhappy with treatment or pay.
The good thingsCan’t think on anything good.
The challengesThe pay is terrible for the hard work you have to do. Your constantly watched like your going to steal or something.

The work environment was nice, but pay is not worth it, bit of a boring job and the big guys in head office are not nice people at all!! They will take your sale right from under your feet for their benefits.
The good thingsThe people i worked with were lovely. The store was nice, new and clean.
The challengesThe pay was bad, kpis unrealistic, hard to get commission when corporate jump on most of your big sales. People in head office are micro managers!! Not open to any suggestions. Retail sales sooos slow.

If you want to feel like you are in the Truman Show then work here, you are watched like a hawk every step of the way and they have zero trust for staff with constant micromanaging. The promise of pay review is never delivered on until you decide to leave and suddenly the cheque book is open.
The good thingsThe staff (not management) and learning about fitness equipment.
The challengesGreedy management and their zero trust of staff.

A frustrating experience that had the potential to be wonderful.
The good thingsBeing in a fitness environment was positive. There were a few employees and managers that made working there enjoyable and worthwhile.
The challengesUnrealistic targets in most stores. Salespeople would often pinch your deals, so would managers. As a regular salesperson, your opinions and recommendations are largely ignored. POS software very arcaic and out-dated. Marketing dollars are often overspent in media which does not provide effective results. Petty in-fighting amongst managers disenfranchises employees. Commissions were not structured relative to the gp desired by the owners. This wains enthusiasm from sales people.

I left a good job to work here and regretted it. Only good if you are absolutely desperate for a job.
The good thingsI worked with tools and fitness equipment that I enjoyed.
The challengesLied to about pay and career advancement, very poor pay for the work done and skills required. Management could not identify the good from the poor workers.
