    Would never go back!!!!
The good thingsThe paycheck and some of the employees
The challengesGood luck getting any support from management with no experience in the industry. Most of the employees will stab you in the back as quick as they can. The culture in the workshop is disgusting. No team building skills. Training is given to the wrong employees.

38 years from apprentice to senior manager has taught me that unless you are prepared to adapt to the challenges of business and the ever changing customer landscape, you have learnt little, and you will cease to remain relevant in the industry.
The good thingsDaily challenges within the automotive industry never disappoint. No matter how well prepared you and your team are, there is always something different to navigate every day.
The challengesBuilding a cohesive team can be a challenge at first. Once staff have empowerment, a sense of belonging and understand "the why" the magic begins. Solid processes, empathy, teamwork and a desire to succeed can resolve most situations.

Good place to work if you're not worried about salary
The good thingsPlace is filled with a lot of good and genuine people. Interesting product and ability for a variety of roles
The challengesDon't pay nearly enough to keep good employees, so knowledge is constantly being lost and having to be re-taught. One particular department head will stop you from progressing out of their team to better roles.

I would not recommend this place for an aspiring mechanical engineer who wants to learn. Paccar is experimenting with new technology but they is not used to moving fast so the work is not very exciting. This is a great company to retire in because of the pace of work and stability. If you are happy with just doing a 9-5 job and not really growing or experimenting new things then this is for you. Graduate program is not very technical, you will learn how to use Excel and the Paccar's operation.
The good thingsMost people are friendly Steady stable career
The challengesSalary review and increases are slow and not consistent A lot of politics and things move slowly There are people who have been there a long time that are set in their ways Flexible work is not very flexible due to most of the work function has to align with production hours

I worked there for nearly 21 years, the vast majority of the time I enjoyed going in myself every day.
The good thingsI worked there for nearly 21 years. The vast majority of the the people there are really lovely. The pay is above average for th e job done. Several perks, freebies etc during the year.
The challengesNothing much really, the job isn't hard, some areas are more physical than others

Good place to work, climbing the corporate ladder is challenging if you're from a non-Caucasian background.
The good thingsSufficient people for the job. previous workplaces have been severely understaffed.
The challengesChallenging for people with diversity to move up.

Very proud to say worked at Kenworth thats it.
The good thingsVery good products. Kenworth and DAF.
The challengesGood products bad management. Very bad company to work for. No respect to workers. Always get cheated on overtime. Managers and supervisors have no knowledge about product so no support from them. Mechanics need to figure all themselves. Still no appreciation but only complains. Never Kenworth laverton again

    Good overall experience
The good thingsCompany has a great family feel - a lot of long-serving employees, a friendly environment, good family events and generous gifts. People are very proud to work at PACCAR Australia. General focus on engineering - lots of opportunity for progression for engineers.
The challengesCan be challenging to work for a company that reports to the US, limits what you can do. Also, the majority of the business can be resistant to change which can be frustrating. There can be an us-and-them attitude at times.

Good company but needs to move into the 21st century
The good thingsCareer development, they try to promote from within. Good employer in the south eastern suburbs. They do try to look after their staff
The challengesOld school culture, struggle with change management. Old offices, typical American owned company, try to spend as little as possible and expect the world in return
