    Project and Design Electrical Engineer
    Apr 2026
Brisbane QLD 40001 to 2 years in the role, current employee
Job fulfillment and career growth are guaranteed with the projects at PHE.
The good thingsThere is a constant flow of challenging and fulfilling projects to work on. The scope of the projects and the opportunities to work with top tier mining and O&G companies are highly recommended for future engineers.
The challengesWorking as part of the engineering team is very fun. The range of projects both at design and construction phases are ultimate engineering dreams, often times the challenges become what you value more between me-time vs project close out.

Brisbane QLD 40003 to 4 years in the role, current employee
    Stable business with experienced people
The good thingsGreat exposure to technically complex projects across different projects, which keeps the work interesting and helps build real capability. The team is experienced and supportive, and there’s a strong focus on getting things done safely and properly. The business has a solid pipeline of work which provides stability, and there are opportunities to take ownership and grow your skills over time.
The challengesLike most project environments, workloads can increase at times, but the team works together to deliver outcomes.

    Qualified Electrician
    Sep 2015
1 to 2 years in the role, former employee
Frustrating with inconsistent treatment of workers
The good thingsAbove average pay with variety of industries to work in. Generally good bunch of tradesmen to work with in a sometimes challenging environment
The challengesGetting recruited to then find out the promised work no longer available. PHE string out EBAs and do not place any value on workers family or financial situation

Pretty good overall, still have a typical boys club. elect
The good thingsManagement were experienced & actually work alongside the guys who were at the coalface. Fairly well run. Gear fairly well on time, and good running of the job.
The challengesYou had to be one of the boys. Purple circle type of mentality, but I suppose that is OK for the guys who have been there a while.
