My experience here still haunts me to this very day but getting this chance to get it off my chest really helps.
The good thingsFelt very special and hunbled when they offered me the role out if literally hundreds of people.
The challengesSink or swim attitude back then. I never felt I had adequate feedback on what I needed to improve on. Sadly they gave me my marching orders on the spot but it's made me better person today.

    Avoid it if you can
The good thingsThey only speak nicely :)
The challengesIf you are experienced and looking for a progression then my suggestion would be to avoid PlanIT. There is nothing once you join and they will send you to any client no matter if you have the skills to do the role.

Negatively impacted career over last 5 years due to pigeon holing.
The good thingsTried to place at organisations that are conveniently located.
The challengesPositioned as a pure play testing organisation so miss out on a lot of other opportunities such as scrum master and senior agile roles and they are not actively selling those roles in the Melbourne market

    Avoid if you can
The good thingsAccess to training, you may get lucky with an assignment which will develop skills you want to develop.
The challengesOpportunities entirely depend on where you are placed, no real ability to choose where you will end up, very hard to negotiate doing training during work time, rhetoric around being able to take your career where you want to go places the responsibility of these issues back on employees, when really they are due to barriers being created. Management only care that you are earning them money.

Greated by friendly faces from day one, only got better, intense training that is paying off quickly, awesome working enviroment.
The good thingsProbably one of the best staff (Managers and Employees) working relationships I have come across in the past 10 Years. Solid Team environment and nothing comes before the well being of their staff.
The challengesA lot of travel, and requires a lot of knowledge from very different spheres of education such as cabinetry, design and It skills. However they work with you to develop these skills no matter how much effort it requires from their senior team members.

Great place to work, hard working with collaborative teams. Always laughs between the daily day to day slog but this means no clock watching!
The good thingsThe management structure is fairly flat so everyone can be heard and recognised and no one is ever ignored. There are always company wide, and regional events, and always things going. In short, the company is growing by the day and going places. Still fairly small in headcount but global standings are within the top 4 in testing so a great place to be.
The challengesThings change daily, but what doesn't in the IT industry. The challenges are also a positive as keeps you on your toes constantly and keeps you thinking about the day to day.
