The worst work/life balance of my career
The good thingsRecognisable brands, marketing best practice, learned a lot quickly (had to)
The challengesVery poor people culture, the worst work/life balance I have experienced (working weekends and most evenings, public holidays, people frequently work on their annual leave just to catch up). Not enough resource to get the job done in the time demanded. Years of cut backs and cost saving while expecting less staff to deliver more is leading to burn out across the company. Management don't believe in work/life balance or see a value in people culture

Constantly demanding more from shrinking resources.
The good thingsThe majority of people and team leaders are great. Lots of smart people.
The challengesSmall piece in a large multi national P&G in Australia is looking to save cost on personnel and asking for better results from fewer people and smaller teams. Long hours and high pressure. Internal politics and pressure from overseas teams make a negative atmosphere.

    Do not apply here
The good thingsThey promote a good work/life balance with opportunities in working from home and flexible time schedules
The challengesTerrible management and does not care for employees at all. Bottomline, they only care about sales and profits, everybody can be replaced at the snap of their fingers.

Learned some key skills in Marketing however not much else.
The good thingsMajority of staff are friendly and courteous. Have made some great friends and contacts.
The challengesOverwhelming bad management decisions lead to more problem solving than actual work. Terrible overseas collleagues constantly getting work incorrect but somehow managing to make the local market correct them. No training and development plans from management whatsoever.

Bad decisions and treatment of staff from upper management of the division.

The challengesSome of the procedures and processes took too long to be authorised and thus delayed or missed opportunities to maximise sales.
