GWE- End up using more of your own money to make end meet rather than get a decent wage working here
The good thingsSome nice people there, A range of different jobs you can do, if you can get any training to do them that is.
The challengesPay rate is high BUT No shifts means not money, Flat rate no extra money for Avro shift or night shift or weekend work or late call outs. Very little to no training, there is a pecking order for work, GWE at the bottom little to no shifts followed by VSE a few shifts per week, full-time permanent get the bulk of work a few of the permanents have a level of self-entitlement and a Union for all I think not EA agreement somewhat reflects this. O yer one last thing there is no work/life balance here as you DON"T KNOW when you’re working your next shift until 4pm text the day before so you can't plan anything. In summary you end up using more of your own money to make ends meet rather than get a decent let alone average wage to live on that how it is for GWE employees!

The sugar season is those desperate and don't have a life outside of work
The good thingsMost of the other drivers are helpful and friendly
The challengesMassive learning curve, Lack of relevant training, expected to be able to find cane pads spread over a 100km radius from mill with minimal signage and direction. The money seems alright at first, but when you account for working 12 hour shifts, night shift, overtime and casual loading, it very quickly drops the base rate down.

Will Macquarie be able to fix the disgruntled workplace and schizophrenic management style.
The good thingsFrontline workers and general people who work on site or administration are friendly and hardworking.
The challengesManagement conflicts within departments. Dog eat dog, rumour mill workplace culture. Management is based on positioning during tenure rather than work skill or management ability. Top tier of workers are highly strung and gossip prone to cope with the poor ethics and management work culture.

Buisness of burnt out box movers
The good thingsFellow co workers were level headed.
The challengesConstant turn over of qualified staff the entire time I was there, management was all too eager to argue over cents on the dollar with contracts and maintenance leading to failures and cancellations. Lower pay compared to other companies

    Lying incompetent mangers and company
    The good thingsThe work colleagues
The challengesMangers had no idea of how to run a Rail company. The training for new starters was promised but never happened. The control centre constantly ran train that were overloaded, and when challenged about not enough horsepower to run the trains. They would change the load on paper and the train would stall. The locomotives would always break down and no help you would be constantly working 16 hr shifts.

Worked for them for years and they kicked me while I was down.
The good thingsThe people you get to work with are pretty good.
The challengesManagement needs improvement and better training, middle and upper. Absolutely clueless of their employer obligations. HR has no idea what they are doing. Payroll take 6 - 8 weeks to do anything. Not worth working here. They are foul.

waste of two years i'll never get back
    The good thingsnot much unfortunately
The challengesI was scheduled to transport a load under the supervision of the State Manager, who demonstrated a lack of understanding of safety protocols and industry regulations. The load in question was deemed unsafe for transport due to incorrect loading. I refused to transport the load until the necessary rectifications were made to ensure safety compliance. I also experienced equipment failures. I believe it is essential for management in the logistics industry to possess relevant experience and knowledge of transport regulations to ensure the safety of drivers, the public, and the goods being transported.

Very tough company to work for. Management go out of their way to make the working environment toxic and volatile. Deny all attempts at scratching and force you to use sick days as a means to get a day off. Switch you from days-nights and short shift. No fatigue management. GOOD LUCK!
The good thingsCo-workers were great people
The challengesDealing with a toxic management that do not care about their employees . Unnecessary 4pm allocation for work the next day so no ability to create plans or have a life.

    Love it so much
The good thingsToo many to mention. I came from my last employer who had an extremely toxic environment and ended up with terrible anxiety and I hoping one day I will overcome this. I now left that employer and came to Qube I’m extremely thankful to Qube as I feel they saved me from mental health issues. They are the most friendly outgoing people and culture and it’s been a massive shock to feel like you are loved and welcome by this employer. I don’t know how to thank them for taking me under their wing and giving me such a fantastic workplace culture.
The challengesThere are no challenges as they teach you the job well
