What’s it like working at Qube Holdings?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Qube Holdings consistently praise their colleagues and co-workers, describing them as friendly, helpful, and hardworking, which creates a supportive team environment. Some employees have also highlighted a positive workplace culture with a welcoming atmosphere, and appreciate the well-maintained equipment and introduction of new fleet.

However, there are some potential challenges. Management is frequently mentioned as an area for improvement, with employees noting that some managers may lack relevant experience or operational understanding. Training for new starters can be limited, creating a steep learning curve. Shift allocation can be challenging, with notifications coming at 4pm the day before, making personal planning difficult. Some employees have also noted concerns about favouritism in work allocation, and whilst the hourly rate appears competitive, the base rate may be lower than expected when accounting for shift work and overtime.

GWE- End up using more of your own money to make end meet rather than get a decent wage working here
The good thingsSome nice people there, A range of different jobs you can do, if you can get any training to do them that is.
The challengesPay rate is high BUT No shifts means not money, Flat rate no extra money for Avro shift or night shift or weekend work or late call outs. Very little to no training, there is a pecking order for work, GWE at the bottom little to no shifts followed by VSE a few shifts per week, full-time permanent get the bulk of work a few of the permanents have a level of self-entitlement and a Union for all I think not EA agreement somewhat reflects this. O yer one last thing there is no work/life balance here as you DON"T KNOW when you’re working your next shift until 4pm text the day before so you can't plan anything. In summary you end up using more of your own money to make ends meet rather than get a decent let alone average wage to live on that how it is for GWE employees!

The sugar season is those desperate and don't have a life outside of work
The good thingsMost of the other drivers are helpful and friendly
The challengesMassive learning curve, Lack of relevant training, expected to be able to find cane pads spread over a 100km radius from mill with minimal signage and direction. The money seems alright at first, but when you account for working 12 hour shifts, night shift, overtime and casual loading, it very quickly drops the base rate down.
