Extremely Disappointing - Toxic Workplace The good thingsUnfortunately, my experience did not reflect the values RAC promotes publicly. Communication was poor, expectations were unclear, and the recruitment/onboarding process felt disorganised and impersonal. Concerns raised were not handled with professionalism or courtesy, and feedback was delivered in a way that felt unnecessarily dismissive rather than constructive.
There was a noticeable lack of support, transparency, and basic respect — which was disappointing given RAC’s reputation and emphasis on customer service and people-first values.
The challengesThe experience fell well short of what I would expect from an organisation of this size and standing. I would encourage RAC to reflect on how they treat staff and candidates, as culture and communication matter just as much internally as they do for members. Unfortunately, the process did not reflect the professionalism or values one would expect from a large, established organisation. Prospective applicants should proceed with caution.
