    Growing and flourishing
The good thingsThe positive shift in the culture in the last few years is absolutely amazing. You see people who care for each other and are passionate about the work. New leaders at Rawson have an aspiring vision and it's great to see more exciting projects starting.
The challengesThere's been a few changes and restructures in the organisation that happened one after another. Hopefully that's all settled now.

    Great safety culture
The good thingsThe culture here is remarkable welcoming, collaborative, and supportive. There's a genuine sense of camaraderie, and leadership actively fosters open communication and mutual respect. This company genuinely prioritizes work-life balance, which is a breath of fresh air in this demanding industry.
The challengesThere was always areas to improve but the team address concerns and act swiftly to improve

It was a high stress environment where management seem to actively work against anyones success.
The good thingsEven in a terrible work place you can find mates to hang out with and have a good time.
The challengesNo one in the business seems to know what they are doing from sales to construction. Management lacks construction experience and construction qualifications. This means that their ideas don’t help make things better and don’t lead to success. Decisions are made at random and seem to be aimed at making people’s lives harder. There is a constant stream of people leaving due to either having had enough or redundancy.

A supportive culture that values individuality and diversity, promotes cross-team collaboration, and offers flexibility, professional growth, and work-from-home options to enhance work-life balance.
The good thingsGreat company culture where you a truly valued as an individual. Collaboration across teams, great support and flexibility when needed. Work from home 2 days a week is fantastic for work / life balance. There is a big focus on development and internal career opportunities.
The challengesConstruction Industry has been through lots of challenges in recent years (post Covid) high inflation and interest rates, but the company has always been transparent with our strategy and goals. The leaders have diversified our pipeline so that we are better placed within the industry.

Great supportive environment and knowledgable teams
The good thingsThe teams I've worked with are extremely supportive. The immediate team I am a part of are the most dedicated and knowledgable in the residential safety space I have ever worked with
The challengesFlat structure makes career progression tricky

Tiring, hopefulness turned to hopelessness. Wish I hadn't stayed as long as I did, but at one point, my team was amazing and that was enough for me
The good thingsIf you're there long enough, you really get a sense of the best people to help support you and get the best results to make everyone's lives easier
The challengesLow salary, management and HR were so bad. The minute things started to work, the higher ups would change process, with no written anything except KPIs so teams are left to figure it out or face repercussions - repeat ad nauseam... At one point, there was a LIMIT on how many people were allowed to get coffee at the same time.

Unless it starts to change, more and more people will leave. The environment is very corporate. Everyone is just a number
The good thingsFantastic Estimating Manager and Operations. All staff are great
The challengesSales driven decisions. Has become toxic in the last few years, they don't seem to look after staff who have been there long term and would rather not promote staff who meet/exceed there KPI's as they will be loosing the output. Very top heavy and not enough people to do the work. Sales management is quote messy and alot of finger pointing when jobs don't get over the line

13 years of service with Rawson and would never look elsewhere. Completely satisfied with the team
The good thingsWorking with a great team where everyone is willing to help. Great culture and room to move around the business with so many opportunities
The challengesLike most residential home builders the market fluctuates with new sales, however Rawson adapts quite quickly to the market and diversifies

They have a good reputation with other builders for the way they train their staff so I would recommend using them as a stepping stone to get to where you want to be.
The good thingsYoung fun work environment, really good/strict processes that make everything flow better, paperless, Gym, pool and showers in the complex, Friday drinks and social club events.
The challengesThe work environment was good, but the salary package (especially for Sydney) is about 25% below what it should be. Also, there is no parking and the station is not along a main line. You need to go to Strathfield and double back or get an all stops train.

Great job but untenable due to management.
The good thingsAbility to work from home. Most office staff.
The challengesToo many roadblocks by management in ACT to be able to do the job properly. No focus on customer service post construction and handover to clients. Management were out of their depth. Staff not replaced quickly or at all which put everyone left under pressure. Inability to improve processes because suggestions fell on deaf ears.

    Disorganised, toxic and unpleasant
The good thingsOthers outside the department I worked in were welcoming, thankful and understanding of my role

    A Completely COMMUNIST System
The good thingsFriendly Environment, supportive staff in Rhodes office, Sydney, NSW. A good different experience for start.
The challengesNot being considered as an individual and not being appreciated for your extra effort in a proper way. I can describe it as a communist system. A challenge to stay too long as it is a very repetitive type of job. Your work may worth more than what you get paid if your job means a lot to you.
