it was the perfect place to start my work journey.
The good thingsa slower work place than other fast food places, very friendly and inclusive.
The challengesnot many but I will say that the chip hopper cut me more than a few times.

I was treated poorly with the current management team and I don’t recommend to work there.
The good thingsAll of the workers are nice.
The challengesHow the new managers treat people. Since they started managing from November 2025, they treated workers poorly. If you don’t want to get treated like poorly, don’t recommend working there.

Great staff, unhealthy store reputation. Do not recommend this specific store to work at.
The good thingsThe staff and friends you make there are great and always fun to work with. None of them were strict on just work, we would work while also enjoying each others company. It was an overall great first job there to meet and make friends.
The challengesThe overall store is unsuitable especially the franchise owners. The store had several outdated equipment that were not upto safety standards yet after multiple audits as well the owners never attempted to change anything, they would make temporary changes and then after few months the same issues came up.

The challengesLittle maintenance is done to vital parts of the store, leaving risks to food safety

My experience hardly happened. I'm on float, and I'm supposed to be able to do numerous fields in the job, yet they shelve me out the back to do dishes every 2-3 weeks and then ignore me til the next. They clearly give this treatment to others, and it's impossible to cover shifts because so many other people are desperate for work as well.
    The good thingsThe discount, sadly.
The challengesThe work culture is toxic, and the treatment of young employees as disposable is extremely miserable. I get one 3 hour shift every few weeks after finishing a certificate with them while they give the cheapest options (who are generally younger and less experienced) full time.

Excellent business to work in, friendly, kind and supportive.
The good thingsThe managers are very friendly and supportive to younger staff starting out. The hours are flexible to what you need.
The challengesThe customers can sometimes be a bit difficult because working in fast food we are usually looked down on.

Working at Redrooster has it's ups and downs but I have enjoyed almost every experience I have had there, it has opened up new skills for me and encouraged me to work smarter while also working hard.
The good thingsThe staff, store manager and store owner are friendly and encourage hard work. Staff discounts for on and off shifts. Setting your availability's, checking rosters, and clocking in and out are all very efficient.
The challengesOften times where there is no opportunity to take breaks. Some crew members not working hard to do the jobs necessary.

    AVOID CAIRNS RED ROOSTER
The good thingsI liked my co workers and the staff discounts
The challengesThe manager being rude and not being given any shifts for most weeks and being Shifted on unavailability when mentioned it in the interview. bringing it up they would retaliate and cancel my shifts. Work place b*llying and managers playing favourites.

The Red rooster i worked at was easily the worst job I've had. 1/5 stars
The good things. Coworkers would be okay(sometimes) . Customers were fine mostly
The challenges. Low pay/ long shifts . High expectations from manager(s) . Dirty workplace! (floors, tables, toilets, parking lot) . NOT food safe (multiple mice seen over my time there) . Rude and aggressive boss/ staff . No break room . Dodgy management overall (would constantly "forget" to pay me!?

My experience at Red Rooster was okay, just had downsides.
The good thingsThe good things was the benefit of getting a good discount during work hours as well as the employee's were all friendly, as well as managers.
The challengesThe challenges I encountered was not receiving any shifts for weeks on end, being left alone and working alone for a long period of time during a rush. As well as the menu constantly changing over the weeks and not receiving any shifts had made this a big challenge.

Good owners, good working environment, sense of community, excellent first job.
The good thingsManagers and owners are amazing, down-to-earth people who believe in the company and the values of employees. Flexibility for casual workers was incredible, and it was super easy to work with a changing schedule.
The challengesPeriodically, customer interactions can be challenging, but there's always a team to help out when things go awry.

A great first job and has helped me develop many skills.
The good thingsi loved the experiences i have gained through working here, learning about teamwork and time management. I have become a more well-rounded and passionate person, who is dedicated and hard working. I have created lifelong friendships and connections with my coworkers and my managers.
The challengesThe store can become stressful and a very busy environment so I have had to learn how to be able to quickly adapt and change to suit what is needed and to be flexible and listen to my managers.
