Warehouse Operator/ Forklift Operator/ delivery Driver

NO WAY would I recommend working at Reece Group, such a stressful period of my life.
The good thingsSome of the staff were great and helpful.
The challengesWay too cliquey, if you are "in" with manager, you will go on the good deliveries, otherwise you are left with the short but terrible deliveries. To begin with, was hired as delivery driver but then put on trade counter, then moved to another store and was given promises but they were never followed through with. Highly stressful dealing with customers that treat you poorly either on the phone or in person. Next to no work-life balance, expected to work every 2nd or 3rd weekend, depending on the size of the branch. No additional benefits to having any extra skills/ role in job, meaning if you have your forklift licence, you are paid the same wage as someone without a forklift licence, which is below $30 an hour.

Use to be a fantastic place to work!
The good thingsA few good team members, some of the customers are grateful for the back breaking work we do and for the 9 plus hours on our feet every day.
The challengesManagement need to acknowledge contributing staff, seems you need to be family members these days to be heard, seen or appreciatted. Empty promises, no straight answers given when you ask. Leadership use to be brillant, these days we have yes people in positions who fail to listen or see whats happening in the work place, they now accommadate to the minority rather than majority.

Physically demanding work for stagnant, non-transparent pay
The good thingsThe initial training is okay, but career progression is rare. Most staff remain stuck in entry-level roles for years while only a select few are ever moved up.
The challengesThe "salary" model here is highly misleading. It factors in mandatory weekend shifts but lacks the hourly rate to justify the heavy physical workload and technical knowledge required. Wage growth is nearly non-existent; I’ve seen long-term staff go over a decade with almost no meaningful increase in pay. Bonus Culture: The bonus system is completely opaque. Even with identical roles and tenure, payouts vary wildly between staff with no clear explanation. Management actively discourages discussing pay, which feels like a tactic to hide favouritism. Workload Disparity: There is a clear "tier" system for drivers. Entry-level staff are burdened with high-volume local deliveries and heavy lifting all day, while senior staff are given significantly lighter, long-distance runs. Management & Safety: The culture is micromanaging and intrusive. After hours calls about petty vehicle tasks that can be addressed by the take home driver and reprimanded for not taking calls while driving.

Absolutely the worst years of my life, would rather be homeless than go back.
The good thingsGoing home at the end of the day and eventually quitting
The challengesCompany is more like North Korea. Comply or else. My experience working here was, without exaggeration, one of the most draining and unsustainable professional environments I’ve encountered. The pressure to perform wasn’t motivational — it was relentless. Long hours weren’t the exception; they were the baseline expectation. Any notion of work–life balance felt purely cosmetic, something spoken about but never genuinely supported in practice. Culturally, it felt less about collaboration and more about compliance. There was a strong, unspoken expectation that you fall in line, agree upward, and maintain appearances regardless of operational reality. Independent thinking or challenging inefficiencies didn’t feel encouraged — it felt quietly punished. If you didn’t seamlessly fit the mould socially or professionally, the atmosphere could become noticeably isolating. From my perspective, leadership seemed far removed from the day-to-day pressures staff were carrying.

    Don’t waste your time
The good thingsNot a lot really apart from the work crew who weren’t in management
The challengesWork-life balance non-existent. Working weekends after a full week is soul destroying. Management have their head in the clouds, lack of empathy and only results driven, staff morality is low on their agenda.

It’s okay if you are willing to take no time off and only stick with it for 6 months. If you need basic money, the hours are there but the support from management isn’t
The good thingsGood crew mates, bonded over the same struggles with management. Bonded over how much we hated it
The challengesMicro managing, timed toilet breaks. Managers that are pressured from the top to screw you over

A high school pretending to be a company
The good thingsIn its current form - nothing.
The challengesMore of a who knows who - management has no idea of what is going on. The company's share price has fallen by 50% The CEO went on the media and blamed WFH. The company has gone over multiple rounds of redundancies and silent redundancies keep happening. No merit to anything - friends are placed in roles who are clearly not up to the task - More of a handball everything culture. All talk and no actions

Unless you bleed blue, you will be on the outer. The leadership team are in panic mode, and have no idea how to structure the business for success because they've only ever worked for Reece.
The good thingsA few good people amongst a lot of average people.
The challengesSenior management don't listen to experienced professionals, outdated systems with no process, exceeding targets does not result in salary review or bonus - everyone gets the same %. And forget the job you apply for, they just lie to get you in the door then change the role.

I take ownership of the team and the customer experience, leading with accountability and delivering service that goes above and beyond.
The good thingsI think this role is what you make of it. When you treat it like your own business each day, you start to get real career satisfaction from it.
The challengesIt’s definitely not an easy job — there’s a lot of problem-solving, juggling priorities, and thinking on your feet. But that’s what I love about it. Every day brings a new challenge, and it’s rewarding knowing you’ve made things happen and helped people along the way.

Below average pay for average job with high expectations
The good thingsThe company is supportive and provides a lot of training when you first start, people are mostly good.
The challengesShowroom consultants earn retail wages but are expected to generate new business, manage accounts, and grow sales without being reflected pay. Despite head office’s claims, growth opportunities are limited. Management stagnant and unmotivating and don't work weekends like the rest of employees

Great place if it wasn’t for one horribly bad person who was in charge
The good thingsExcluding my manager, the team u worked with was great but definitely burnt out
The challengesManager grossly overstepped in personal lives even borderline stalking employees by calling up places to see if they were lying (he got the information wrong and would jump the gun). He refused to interview people and encouraged employees to poach from other businesses instead. The employees became increasingly exhausted due to the place being understaffed

Got a job here through my dad and uncle. If your own family is recommending the job to you then that says enough. Have worked here for almost 6 years now and still counting
The good thingsIncredible environment to work in, the staff become your second family. The work is always different from the day before making everything exciting and new. The career opportunities are endless. Multiple pathways as well as positions are available and growth is always welcomed
The challengesIt is an incredibly fast paced environment which can mean a heavy workload which be stressful at times but you don’t ever take the work home and you always have a team behind you to help lessen the load when needed
