No creative freedom, lack of manager and growth/support & development, no flexibility, power trips, favouritism, high staff turnaround, double standards and old school managementThe good thingsMarket related salary, 50% discount on clothing, some really nice colleagues, job security
The challenges- Digital Hub has favouritism, power trips, double standards, old school management (no flexible options or proper hybrid 3/2 WFH days), hypocrite behaviour.
- Lack of manager and growth/support & development
- Keep in mind different brands within the company have different structures and the experience working for a brand might be totally different from other brands which will totally affect your experience so do your research on reviews first before applying for positions in certain brands.
- Zero creative freedom, CRM designers only roll out brand designs and are not allowed to do anything original.
- To thrive here is not what you can do or offer, it's about how likeable you are and who you keep close to. This is nothing surprising in any corporate company though. Only selected people in teams gets gifts for certain occasions, yet you are asked to contribute (it's not about the actual gifts, it's about again highlighting the favouritism which comes in many forms when everyone should be treated equally).
- Company seems like they do not mind a regular staff turn around at all & don’t take feedback, which is why I left this position without voicing the real concern & reason for leaving. Your day to day can become difficult and filled with anxiety because the rules only applies to certain people.
- Hierarchy changes within the Digi Hub designers is based on favouritism and not on skills or experience. Thinly spread HR to assist employees as they believe management are able to handle HR issues themselves but this can definitely improve.
- No benefits that really improves the employee quality of life such as flexi time, extra annual leave or any flexibility policies at all - these are things that will be valued much more than clothing discount.
- Overall the actual work was incredibly easy & well paced because the brand designers designs all the brand's assets and the graphic designers in the digi hub just rolls it out, however this can become monotonous if you're a creative at heart.
- Would have loved to make this position work and stay, however the above points and hypocrite behaviour within the immediate team does not align with my morals and values and all of these unfortunately closes the door to any career growth which resulted in seeking success elsewhere.
