Trying to be big but lack the structure
The good thingsThe people in store and connections that can be built are to be kept for life
The challengesCompany lacks structure at a senior level. Everything rolls down hill to stores and senior leaders struggle to hold them selves to account. Senior level have zero care for team members and just watch scores.

Stores are full of politics and no one cares for the staff.
The good thingsThere is always work available as staff turn around is high.
The challengesLow pay, No opportunities to move up in company, no support from management, wages rule so constantly understaffed. Being a manager for Ritchie's will lead to an unhealthy work/life balance.

Poor Culture in store and above
The good thingsSome great people working in stores some with great knowledge and experience
The challengesThe culture and attitude of senior managers and supervisors seemed to conflict with the business goal of the friendliest team. I experience senior management trying to out do each other, claim credit for someone else’s idea or throw someone under the bus. Regularly I was told I had to do 3 different things by 3 different people regards the same thing. Seemed to be a very top heavy business. A small business in terms of retail trying to be big and getting it wrong.

Glad to be out of there
The good thingsMusic plays all day which helps ease the stress
The challengesManagement - unwilling to lend assistance and it’s always someone else’s issue. No accountability, store management believes head office won’t support so action is never taken. Pay is about 20k under a average pay for managerial position

The good thingsIt's very close knit and you have a great team to work with. Management respect your boundaries when it comes to time off.
The challengesYou get stuck doing the same thing day-in day-out. Perfect for a high-school student.

    not very supportive and draining
The good thingsThe pay is really good
The challengesSome upper management do not appear to care about their jobs or staff Do not want to pay older (18+) staff members so casual staff get very fee shifts if over the age of 18 unless you can work specific shifts that no one else can

Really amazing place to work that has well and truly shaped who I am.
The good thingsEveryone I worked with was super lovely, and it was just a wholesome place to work.
The challengesWhen I started working here, I was terrible at customer relations, prior to this I deftly struggle talking to people I don't know. But after working there for a few weeks I drastically improved my confidence and that has definitely made me better at communication ever since.

The good thingsWorking with people you know, friendly chats while working, the boss was fair and nice about everything.
The challengesOne or two people I didn't get along with very well, but I tried my best. There was never anything that was too difficult with working here, a bit repetitive but still good.

I feel hurt and used and unfortunately I still need to stay and work my measly amount of hours until i can find something else.
The good thingsSome of the other workers.
The challengesTrusting management, and feeling valued for your hard work is a challenge. Especially watching lazy workers get hours upon hours of work.

Disappointed in what could be a great company
The good thingsNo pressure from management
The challengesNo leadership and no direction and nobody to champion change. There so far off the pace and have no desire to come out of the dark ages and in to the new age of retailing.
