A sweet but hectic job with great people and endless chocolate treats.
The good thingsI really enjoy working in a fun and fast-paced environment surrounded by sweet treats and happy customers. The team vibe was positive and supportive, and I am learning a lot about customer service and food prep.
The challengesI liked working with friendly coworkers and seeing regular customers enjoy their desserts it made the shifts feel rewarding.

It's a very poor work environment with below average management
The good thingsThe employee discount was decent but working with the food and drink products as much as I did it wasn't very useful. Some of the other employees were great to work
The challengesMost of the team members made it clear they didn't want to work there and were only sticking with it to keep food on the table and stay afloat. Extremely poor communication from management when needing to get in contact regarding shifts or if needing to take time off. Lack of communication around employment status, no notice or reasoning when being dismissed. Discount didn't come in useful because preparing the food products makes the idea of consuming them sickening. Lack of support when wanting to branch out into other areas at the store. They kept me out the back washing dishes almost exclusively and didn't let me try other positions during my time there.

    The worst of the worst.
The good thingsSome people who work there are okay, but the managers are the worst, beyond the usual bad, just far off the grid. Don't judge a book by it's cover, they act nice when you start, then they look down on you soon afterwards.
    The challengesBeyond all existential possibility.

overall things could have changed, but this is my personal experience with his particular store.
The good thingsfood is good, customers are friendly
The challengesunorganized management, always left untidy management/owners do not clean and will expect the staff to do it for them that also goes for serving and cooking. Causes emotional roller coasters as the owners are struggling how to properly run the westlakes store especially when it comes to hospitality requirements.
