This company will test and challenge you every day just to survive and remain sane.
The good thingsMy team and work colleagues are amazing and supportive.
The challengesNational office has challenges in supporting its front line staff. There are ridiculous processess that tie up customer interactions and relationships in red tape. All departments work in silos and there is a lack of support to operational staff unless your in with the clicky group. An accepted toxic culture. A real eye opener for sure.

My dream job became a nightmare dealing working for out of touch management who preferred a big stick approach, when often, all you need, is a little carrot.
The good thingsThe people make the difference. Some loyal, take-whatever-comes hard working individuals who hold the place together, and shine a warming light in an often gloomy environment.
The challengesMajor decisions are mainly made from head office in Melbourne, which made working from other states difficult sometimes. Modern corporate ethos has a lot to answer for these days and Scania Australia has jumped right on board. Newsflash: KPI's do NOT give accurate information on performance.

You're better off working for Volvo
The good thingsSome really nice staff, but you get a frosty reception to start.
The challengesThe Executive Management Team, a law unto themselves. They can't deal with issues one on one so the penalize the workforce for individual misdemeanors. Closed the canteen to make room for more offices and made no replacement lunchroom. High staff turnover, if it wasn't for the 'lifers' they'd have a staff turn well over 50% a year!

Run by a bunch of amateurs considering the size of the company...
The good thingsAfternoon shift times. Guys on the workshop floor friendly and helpful.
The challengesWhere to start? Time, money, resources wasted due to lack of knowledge on behalf of management on site and interstate... don't respond well to constructive criticism. Small paypacket compared to other local dealershipsearch.

    Great company, good support.
The good thingsWork-Life balance, training and general conduct as a company... Overall there is a good work vibe which stems from head office directive and is implemented from a management level straight through to the front line.
The challengesAs in most jobs it can be difficult to understand the lingo and general terminology as it relies heavily on acronyms... In addition, the time difference of a multi national with its factory in Sweden can sometimes result in waiting an additional 24 hours for a response.
