If you are favourite to your TL, you can enjoy your day without any stress or performance, they can hold you back otherwise every second you will be monitored. Stay whole day on inbound calls back to back whole month then your TL who never had a single call experience, they will fail your calls at the end of each month and warn you about your quality. This is such a joke. No proper training, never had coaching, but when it comes to quality, your TL's expectations are already set up for the massive milestones. If you ask them for support then their response is speechless as they are not trained for inbound calls but they can judge you🤔 🤷. You are just a number, once new recruits are come close to join, you will be targeted to leave indirectly.
The good thingsHad new great friends was the only best thing.
The challengesManagement had no idea what is happening around there. Favourism is at on its best.

False promises to new recruits and it’s a stressful job. Poor communication and management.
The good thingsI had a good experience working with people in a team, multi talented coworkers and colleagues. Made some good friends and memories.
The challengesPoor training, management got no idea how to provide good training because not everyone has a customer service background. People quit after few weeks due to work load and taking calls everyday. It affects mental health and adds stress to life. Don’t waste time working here if got other jobs.

Careful, it will break you with the culture of targeting
The good thingsThe pay and personal conditions but even that doesn't help with the stress
The challengesmicromanagement and incompetent leadership from the team leaders right up to senior executives. KPI alone with call listening are a set up to fail and no way are your direct leadership in the mindset to develop or support you. Call Centre is woeful

While a contractor for only six months it was a great experience working on a diversity of projects - in addition the majority of Team Leaders were excellent under the weekly project pressure with our team's varying skills also being very complimentary.
The good thingsDespite being a large public sector agency staff and departments are making a real impact on Australians in need of services support
The challengesSections BAU missions can be affected at a moments notice when nationwide actions or disasters require immediate response for financial assistance by the agency

Use the experience as a stepping stone to greater opportunities! Don't stay there!!
The good thingsLearning new IT skills, working with nice people, supportive team environment, helping grant claims to people that need welfare support .
The challengesInitial rollout training was absolutely rushed with lots of reading less time for training in screen navigation. Team Leaders over micromanaged the environment. Lack of freedom of speech , IT databases and processes very complex, as you need to contact experienced officers for support. Political correctness over the top! Calling clients when claims were rejected and being coached on mistakes you make. Physiological work hazard which can affect your health and wellbeing if you don't rest. Self care is essential in call centre environments!
