    Nice place to work :-)
The good thingsThe physical environment is great and people I work with genuinely want to make a difference for the local community. Being such a diverse organisation, there is lots of opportunity to learn. There's a nice culture here that supports work/life balance.
The challengesSalary could be better, but there are other benefits that offset that.

Great people, great work and great opportunities
The good thingsGood benefits unique to local government - additional sick leave and other types of leave. Work flexibility Very diverse work and teams Proud of the quality services we provide to the community
The challengesCommunication and collaboration in a large diverse workplace. Lots of good people trying but sometimes it is hard to keep up with the pace of change.

    Toxic. Toxic. Toxic.
The good thingsGood people, most of whom leave when they realise how bad it is to work there.
The challengesPoor pay compared to other local Councils. Terrible management. Toxic culture. Promotion of people who lack correct qualifications and skills.

Very toxic, like high school, a now supervisor was awarded for dancing while whipper snipping.
The good thingsGetting paid to sleep in work vehicle when it starts to sprinkle. Bludging is an art form here.
The challengesManagers and supervisors need to learn basic skills and knowledge for the work they are managing and supervising.

Stable job, not the best work place culture.
The good thingsSupport upskilling and doing various roles if that interests you. Stable work.
The challengesLittle to no communication when there are changes or events. You often find out via social media or in the newspaper instead of internally. No flexibility when it comes to work life balance. Pay is not the best. Same role within a private business you'll get 8-10k more at least. Work place culture is fairly poor.

Was the most frustratingly unprofessional, narrow-minded backward thinking work environment. The lower graded staff are overworked whilst middle management are unskilled and unprofessional.
The good thingsFeeling part of the community
The challengesEqual Employment is non existent. No room for career advancement. Too much control in same hands for years. Narrow mindedness. Middle management and upper management unskilled and unprofessional.
