    Geriatric unsupportive company
The good thingsTrying on jewellery is fun, and the casual workers can be nice
The challengesIt's like upper management hasn't left their office since the 80s, the company is so old fashioned, and not in a cool retro way. No face piercings, no more than two earrings an ear, no coloured hair, skirts must be below knee with tights, must wear makeup. Management is not supportive whatsoever and if you make a minor mistake, prepare to be told off, rudely. Expect to work overtime for free, and make sure you meet your insane KPIs. If you're a friendly talkative person, you won't do well here, they don't like you talking too much, just make the sale and get them out the door. Oh, and no bonuses, and no staff discount for your probation period.

Okay as a means to something else, just don't expect anything more than that.
The good thingsSome friendly staff, good people, cool products.
The challengesOverall the environment is very stale, working conditions are below par and the departments feel too segregated. People are generally underpaid and unhappy which effects the environment. Not much of a culture and no visible HR structure/employee relations which i thought was super unusual. Lots of orders to work through which could be high pressure.

Fast-Paced, Trend-Focused, and Full of Fresh Perspectives
The good thingsWorking in buying means fresh perspectives every day. You collaborate with different teams to keep things running smoothly, and the best part—getting an early look at trends just as they start to take off.
The challengesBuying is fast-paced and rewarding, but it comes with pressure—tight deadlines, trend unpredictability, and constant forward planning. Balancing creativity, data, and supplier challenges keeps you on your toes.
