Unnecessary stress and disappointment if I were you and you were considering a role here, don’t.
The good thingsThe best part I enjoyed was weekends and holidays. I also enjoyed lunch breaks the commute to and from work was fun also! I loved 10min breaks… even toilet breaks… I loved some of the friends I made there too, and we still tight after leaving. I loved it when we would get to go home early that was always nice. I loved when I’d have to move my car, you get that nice break and they were cool about it!
The challengesUpper management needs to be approved. It doesn’t just need to improve, but there needs to be a clean now. Swams has lost its value and it’s lost the meaning for why it exists. As a member for two decades to have experienced what it’s like to work inside that place has ruined how I feel about the organization as a whole and every time I go into the doctors now I question the ethics and whether or not this is a valuable service in our community. My strong opinion and what I know would also be the life support this organization needs is that upper management is restructured and people are brought back down to the levels they should be on. We have a lot of people who aren’t a part of the community running a program for a particular community and their intentions are not for the best of the community. If you know, you know…

    Low Morale and Limited Accountability
The good thingsOpportunity to collaborate across different areas of the organisation
The challengesOne of the main challenges was unclear processes, which made planning work and understanding priorities difficult. Expectations often changed without notice. Limited leadership availability made timely input, guidance, and decision-making difficult, affecting communication, workflow, and collaboration. Onboarding and training were limited, requiring significant self-direction. Access to information was sometimes restricted, and unclear reporting lines occasionally impacted collaboration. Inconsistency in guidance created uncertainty around priorities and expectations. There were also competing priorities and limited resources, with constraints around influencing meaningful change despite identifying areas for improvement.

    Uncertainty within the organisation
The good thingsI thrive in collaborative environments and genuinely enjoy working with my team. We’re a fun, dynamic group that brings energy and creativity to everything we do. I also love engaging with people across different areas of corporate services as well as community and clinic sector.
The challengesThe organisation is currently facing significant challenges at the leadership level. The Acting management roles lacks the necessary skills to effectively guide the organisation, and there have been numerous promotions into acting management roles without the required competencies. This has created widespread uncertainty and instability. Media reports have highlighted the lack of support from board members, further compounding the issue. Ultimately, it's the community that suffers due to the egos and poor decision-making of top management and board-level leadership. No CPI increase to match rising cost of living while top management enjoying luxury of company vehicles.
