Don't believe the hype about the culture.
The good thingsThe care workers are empathetic, the workforce coordinator is invested and engaged, the activities team are excellent.
The challengesThe executive management team aren't strong on collaboration, employee growth and development, or supporting roles they don't understand. Continually espousing "I'm not a micro-manager" then proceed to micro manage. Or "we're all here to learn together" but when they need to support team with change in their roles management regularly are unable to provide clarity and guidance.

    Caring is NOT their business.
The good thingsFantastic working in the community and meeting a diverse range of people.
The challengesAbout 90 percent of the work involves Domestic Assistance, including vacuuming & mopping floors, cleaning toilets and shower cubicles. It is nothing to be given 5 homes or more to clean, back to back, on any given day. Often, not enough time is allocated to travel from one job to the next, so you are always rushing to meet your schedule. Breaks are difficult to obtain and lunch is often eaten whilst driving from one consumer's home to the next. There is almost NO opportunity to advance from Care Worker to any other position within the company, unless you are close to someone in management. Goal posts are moved to make obtaining advancement more difficult than it needs to be. Even when offering to pay for your own tuition fees in full, the hours required to obtain a higher level of education in the office situation are refused without reason. Despite keeping the company afloat, Care Workers are not valued employees.
