This job really does give you the platform to earn a lot of money and enjoy a lot of incentives and rewards if you do well.
The good thingsOpportunity to make a lot of commission and plenty of incentives such as holidays, wine tours, lunch club, various entertainment (during work hours). Great work culture and amazing people.
The challengesLike all sales roles, if you aren't performing- you will limit your income.

Spencer Ogden has provided me with the opportunity to progress my career & earning potential faster than I ever thought possible at my age!
The good thingsExcellent uncapped commission structure Very clear pathways to promotion / career progression Everyone has the same opportunities to move up and to make money Great management & training support Fun work environment with HEAPS of incentives Working at SO has allowed me to have a healthy work/life balance
The challengesRecruitment as a whole has up and down days, but it would be the same in any role in recruitment, no matter the company. Recruitment can be challenging but the rewards outweigh the negatives in so many ways.

You will always be recognised for your efforts whilst working in a fun and high energy culture!
The good thingsReally fun work environment that rewards you for your efforts and recognises high performers. My time at Spencer Ogden has offered me numerous growth opportunities where I have been able to upskill myself and take on more responsibility. To progress within the company you will always have very transparent targets set for you so you are always working towards an end goal. Throughout my time at Spencer Ogden I have constantly been incentivised to perform at my best and have been rewarded through commission, promotions, overseas holidays and exciting activities to experience with your team!
The challengesThe role of a recruitment consultant does require self motivation and suits highly driven people.

    Wouldn't recruit anywhere else!
The good thingsGreat training programs, opportunity for growth and a management team that cares about people on an individual level. Great team culture and incentives!
The challengesSales is challenging no matter where you are. If you're going to be in sales - SO is the place to do it.

SO has always delivered on it's commitments to me and provided support to help me achieve my career goals.
The good thingsGreat culture, good people, transparent opportunities and industry leading training. SO has a dynamic leadership team, and a board that actually takes on feedback and makes changes. The company is still agile enough to respond to market conditions, and empathetic enough to understand the challenges employees face in a sales-driven environment.
The challengesHigh expectations, but surely that's a good thing also!

Unprofessional and unsubstantial workplace. DO NOT APPLY
The good things-Very clear career progression structure made it easy to strive for goals -Cool office
The challengesVery little support from management, even though they believed they were supportive mentors. Checking in once a day for 10 minutes is not support. Forced graduates and new employees to be self-driven, with the expectation that you would just know what you're doing immediately. Horrifically low pay for the amount of work you're expected to put in, and constantly feels like you're being spied on. If you enjoy being micromanaged with unsubstantial support and pathetic pay, you should definitely apply for the role.

    Wouldn’t recommend working here
The good things- 3pm Friday finishes - Fun youthful culture - Very incentive driven, if you are achieving then you have the opportunity to be apart of some great incentives
The challenges- Poor management (lack of structure and support) - Immature work place environment with politics involved - Ridiculously low base salary (worst I’ve ever come across) - Highest turn over rate I’ve ever seen

Awful experience. Avoid at all costs.
The good thingsGood career progression opportunities and perks but that’s about it.
The challengesIf you like working extremely hard in a toxic culture and being paid minimum wage then this is the job for you.

If you have the motivation and can ignore the local shortcomings and contentious intra-office relationships, you may be able to succeed with the right mentor.
The good thingsSelf-driven work, very rewarding for personal growth and financially for the right person.
The challengesRapid growth means little room for error, inconsistent support and some underexperienced management. Presently immature, wild-west attitudes. Staff turnover at about one person every couple of months, senior consultants regularly leave as well.

Great place to work if you are looking for a fun and unique Google-esque environment. But if you need any sort of support or training, look elsewhere. This place will make you hate Recruitment.
The good thingsThe people were great - the company/brand, not so much.
The challengesWorst base salary I’ve ever received in the industry. I would also say that the aggressive culture / “greater than thou attitude” brand, gets in the way of positive self representation as a Recruitment Consultant.
