What’s it like working at Spiral logistics?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Spiral Logistics offers some positive aspects including work-life balance with flexible time off arrangements and consistent finish times for many drivers. The company provides professional development opportunities such as CV licence training and crane operation skills, and some drivers appreciate having dedicated vehicles with prompt repairs. The ability to work autonomously is also valued by employees.

However, there are areas for improvement including enhancement of management communication and support systems. Some employees have expressed concerns about vehicle maintenance standards, particularly for rigid trucks. The irregular working hours and workload management have been noted as challenging aspects, along with compensation structure that could benefit from additional benefits and penalty rates.

Solid company to work for. Good: - Work/life balance. Drivers with families can usually get home at a reasonable time. Guys who want overtime can get it. - Opportunity. They will help you get your crane ticket, which gives you a bump in pay. Seen guys get promoted from driver to supervisor. - Lots of sites. Varied work, semi/rigid/crane truck, if you don't like a site and you're a decent driver you can usually switch sites. - Minimum 40 hours pay. Even if you get a short week, you still get paid 40hrs. - Take safety very seriously, lots of rules and guidelines to learn (can be good and bad). Bad: - Base pay without overtime could be better.

Supportive and friendly company, would recommend to anyone.
The good thingsWork/Life Balance- Management has always been great about working with me on days off that I required with sick family. Training- Started as an HR driver, but company put me through my CV licence and gave me hands on training to make the test easier. Truck- I don't like swapping trucks with other drivers, unless I need a day off, I am the only driver of the truck and they allow me to manage it as required. If I ever need new equipment or repairs, they are done immediately. Most of the trucks I have seen in the company is within 5 years, good to not be driving ancient vehicles.
The challengesFinish Times- Part of the industry I feel, most days I had consistent finish times around 2:30/3PM, but some days when the customer was busy had much longer days.
