Don't waste your time, seriouslyFor such a big company Stanley Black & Decker has to be the most unorganized company imaginable. Topend pretend they are so busy they don't answer important emails or return calls to the rest of the team. Leadership is non existent and have no real direction, staff are all miserable. Honestly wouldn't let an enemy waste their time with Stanley Black and Decker

Least Dynamic company ever, bad culture, senior management needs to be let go.
The good thingsLeaving for a better company
The challengesNo one answers phones or emails, poor communication, they just keep buying new companies without sorting out the last issues. They may be the largest but they are the most disorganized tooling companies in the world.

Not the best, not the worst. The team are usually great, the customers are horrible.
The good thingsCan be quite fair and reasonable and don't micro-manage (as far as I can tell)
The challengesAverage pay rate, everyone is busy and stretched thin so it may it difficult to rely on others (to no fault of their own). Too much red tape. Dealing with stores isn't too bad, the majority of end-users were horrible. Wasn't a whole heap of opportunity to advance within the company, they would attempt to hire internally but in all instances (as far as I know) they hired externally.

Look elsewhere for opportunities, would not waste my time here if given the time over.
The good thingsGreat customers, want to work through issues that S&B created. Very accepting of past challenges that the S&B business created.
The challengesThe management from senior to low level, the warehouse staff were very difficult. Poor work life culture, along with poor communications. Very high expectations to do more, even if you achieved budget. If you had a differing opinion you were seen as a troublemaker.

Toxic culture, senior management float in and out from Box Hill or home as they please. Meetings about the next meetings and high turnover of casual labour hire employees. Lots of Employee relations issues.
The good thingsStaff discount is generous
The challengesYou cannot work from home unless you work out of Box Hill. Good for some not for others, Keysborough Support Staff considered to be on-site no Hybrid working.

    Great product. Poor company.
The good thingsWork from home. Some brands have a good name.
The challengesThere's no real strategy or focus. It seems like everyone hates each other at management level. Strange interactions between a lot of people.

Toxic. Out of touch. Don't waste your time.
The good thingsWork from home. Good colleagues.
The challengesAbhorrent management that flows from the Managing Director down. The main objective of the business is to keep the status-quo of the senior management team. I use the term management very lightly. Turnover is enormous, the smart and lucky ones don't waste their time for long. No processes. Poor technology. Management gatekeeps basic information to make themselves seem useful, so you are constantly waiting on basic issues to be sorted by them, while copping heat from all your stakeholders.

You can only flourish if you are one of Management’s pets & big staff issues with keeping staff.

The challengesYou have to be someone's Pet to get anywhere with the management.

For a while, it was great. But the honeymoon period very soon wears off and reality will hit very hard. Just remember, document everything, keep records of everything, cover your rear with many different layers, and most importantly, always keep in mind, HR is not there for you, they are there for the company and only the company, you do not matter and wiill be thrown away quicker than a used tissue if required.
The good thingsYou will learn a lot of things, some good, like how to navigate the corperate world, and some bad, exactly what corperate actually means and the head against brick wall you will no doubt get used to. The people around you will be the best thing, you will have fun and learn.
The challengesInternal promotion is few and far between, the glass ceiling is low and hard. The daily grind with little help from above can be quite soul destroying. There is only so many times you can bash your head against a brick wall before you either go numb or unconcious. The constant pressure to deliver the numbers with ever deacreasing resources is relentless, you will never savour the moment as the next stress is always there, work life balance is not great.

    Painful
The good thingsThere are some diamonds in the rough when it comes to people.
The challengesSenior leadership team is in it for themselves and have created an insipid culture where only their pets can flourish. Staff turnover is exorbitant with the majority that are rich in technical and industry knowledge being pushed out of the business. There is no clear strategic plan for the business which often leads to panic selling, channel tension and decimation of strong brands acquired by the corporation such as Sidchrome, Bostitch, Powers and Irwin at the expense of the more glamorous Stanley and DEWALT brands. Complex processes are also inherent in the business and are at a polar opposite to the dynamic nature of the Building and Construction sector.

The good thingsThe people on the floor are amazing to work with. Best crew I've ever worked with so far.
The challengesThe management and HR are all good friends and none can be trusted with anything. They don't listen and it's always been either their way or the highway.

Dont waste your time!!! No life at Stanley
The good thingsStaff are awesome on all 3 shifts key word \"STAFF\" hard working staff that deserve everything and more...
The challengesManagement, Even tho i was part of thjs team i still had alot of respect for the hard working staff that put in 110% into this company to only get screwed over time and time again... Management do not know what they are doing and are completely clueless to run a business that should have been perfect from the day it opened yet it still feeling like open day march 2018, There has been more turn overs in management then staff and when everything goes wrong its the staffs fault. Or team leaders under them... I wish who ever started this business could see how this place has turned out and trust me they would be so disgusted in the way it is run. To many friends in management and not one know what they are doing but the once who had left could run it better.

Horrible culture for a large organisation. High school nonsence happens daily. Hard to watch. Must be hired through friendship or family ties to get anywhere. Management so unprofessional they talk down and raise voices. No acknowleging hard workers
The good thingsNot many good things, besides the one or two people you form a bond with.
The challengesManagement stopping progression of good staff members for their own benefit. Employees that have no respect for others or have bad people skills get moved up as their in with management by either being related or good friends
