    Like any business there are periods of ups and down. SPG has encouraging and positive management which creates a welcoming environment for new ideas. The people within the stores are fantastic to work with and I value being able to interact with both NSO and store staff.
    The good thingsI have experienced great opportunity for career growth whilst working at Star Pharmacy Group. I started as a stock controller and progressed into the National Support Office as a point of sale support and have now moved into a leadership role.
    The challengesOutdated systems can prevent or create manual processes when it comes to data. However this is currently in plan to improve.

    I love working for Star Pharmacy, the atmosphere and banter around the office makes it a pleasurable place to work with a good balance of hard work and fun.
    The good thingsThis is a company with a great workplace culture. It is growing rapidly and everyone is really excited. It has a great family atmosphere and its up to you how much you get involved socially. There has been real growth and development over the last 3-4 years. The individual stores have wonderful hard-working people who really care about their customers.
    The challengesThe head office is getting crammed for space (also a good thing), and parking around the office is always a challenge.

    Fantastic experience in a growing company with low staff turnover, working alongside talented team members dedicated to our the health of our customers!
    The good thingsThe organisation is growing, creating opportunities for all. It has strong retention rates (low staff turnover) across the head office and in the pharmacies with many people that have been here for many years. There is a strong family business feel, and is a organisation that puts values and people before profit.

    I found it difficult to witness Health Care Professional be pushed to their brink from the Employer.

    The challengesA disconnected Human Resources department. Enormous employee turn over. Denial and lack of accountability of employees. National Support Office objective is soley revenue driven.

    The challengesThe only challenges we have at the moment are to do with transitioning the store from an independent to apart of the company which can be a little stressful but I have full support from all staff and management.

    The good thingsLove working with our amazing team of hard workers across the star pharmacies. Everyone is always happy and upbeat and I see the management always working hard to achieve the excellent standards that are given by staff and the the stores.
    The challengesPharmacy itself is a day by day challenge and particularly during these Covid times, as the first port of call as a community healthcare store.. It’s very challenging, but star pharmacy are always very helpful to its staff to help overcome the challenges.
