A good job to learn retail basics, but that's about it.
The good thingsThe discount, the music
The challengesI never came to or left work feeling valued by managers and colleagues. This really wore me down after 4 years.

Overall very bad management / not fair
The good thingsLove the people you work with and brands, great opportunity to speak with brands in person and learn their story
The challengesBad management, bad use of KPI tracking performance, special treatment to higher up staff when they do wrong by the casuals/ part timers - no fair treatment

Challenging and demanding, often draining mentally & emotionally.
The good thingsThe discount is generous and the product is great.
The challengesManagement, seeking time off, pay and they do not promote equality.

I had fun most days I left work not wanting to come back
The good thingsThe people and culture
The challengesNot having a choice over hours/shifts, forced to work when you can’t/request days off, aggressive negative reinforced management, low pay with no opportunity for increase.

    Too competitive
The good thingsWorked with some great people
The challengesKPI’S targets are too high. It Puts way to much pressure on employees and turns people unfairly competitive.

Was alright place to work But the environment made it hard to feel valued.
The good thingsThe perks and discounts were great
The challengesThey had clear favourites out of the Christmas casuals. This showed through interactions and how many hours you got a week. Getting less hours showed you were valued less which made you want to work and be there less. The management had poor communication between each other and poor interaction with staff members. I saw this not only happen to me but other staff members. The pay was very low and they got away with hiring Christmas casuals as “seasonal part time” this meant no part time perks because you were not there long enough and low pay rates.

It's a really fun workplace with so much experience gained, but didn't feel appreciated for all the extra effort put in.
The good thingsThe staff were all amazing. Discount was great. Management was also really good.
The challengesContinuous pressure to reach KPI's which were sometimes ridiculously high for specific days. The pay was horrible. Was asked to step up and supervise (which I did) but wasn't given any sort of pay rise for taking on so much extra responsibility and pressure. Also no commission even for extremely high sales

Felt like I had to prove myself and do a new job interview every single shift
The good thingsMeeting new people and being first in line to see new stock arrivals
The challengesPerformance reviews, hyper sessions and VMing with old stock that hadn’t been selling.

Worked 2 weeks over christmas and then nothing - waste of time
The good thingsTeam was great, lots of opportunities to earn big discounts and gifts. Helped me buy christmas presents that year
The challengesManagement was shocking, there was an obvious 'cool kids' hierarchy going on with the long term staff and this was reflected in hours and even communication between staff

Great - less pressure needs to be taken
The good thingsGreat, fun atmosphere. Especially for younger people. Everyone generally has a down to earth attitude.
The challengesEnormous pressure to sell and meet individual KPI's. I felt like I was going to be fired from time to time because of the pressure. Some places I believe do work together as a store.

Challenging, enlightening, educational and overall fun.
The good things- Really good staff discount - The clothing and brands you're selling are gorgeous and help motivate you and keep you inspired in the workplace -you never feel alone or understaffed on your shift, there were always at least 3 people working to help - You tend to work with really lovely people, all who are good communicators and down to help you
The challenges- Strong emphasis on individual sales KPI's, to the point where you sometimes felt more like a dollar value than a person. - Managers often placed double standards upon workers, leaving all of us with the feeling that we were not doing anything right - Due to the individual KPI system, if a customer you had served was served by another employee, either you would have to log your details into the system (creates an awkward situation), or the other sales person would get credit for your sale

Great people but that’s where it stops.
The good thingsThe people. The teams I worked with were amazing in store. Everyone is really nice even in Head Office.
The challengesThe company has absolutely no structure. Communication is deplorable and they have so much to learn about both of these concepts.

    No teamwork
The good thingsThe people in the team were always lovely and the discounts
The challengesThe management and competitiveness. You had to hit a target every single week and if you didn’t you were on a performance review, COMPETING against your own work team. Nothing was team focused, all about getting better than the person rostered on with you. Creating a wall between being genuine with a customer and needing to hit targets. There was a lot of manipulation from higher up and always worrying about the bonuses for the managers if their team does well for the store.

Only good side was meeting new people.
The good thingsMade some friends, good discount on clothes which was brilliant!
The challengesUnless you are an over the top in your face kind of person don't expect to be able to be \"yourself\". If you don't hit certain targets you get to have a fancy performance review done on you that makes you feel BRILLIANT

    Easy but boring
The good thingsGreat team, work was reasonable, staff discounts were a major plus.
The challengesCompetitive sales environment sometimes creating tense relationships. Could get boring if there were no jobs or customers. Often was a lack of hours available and they paid a very low wage.

This company is a fun and rewarding company to work for.
The good thingsEach employee gets 40% off of big brands which are sold at your store only. So you can only purchase clothes with the 40% discount at your own store. You get to make a few friends too and learn about different cultures.
The challengesCleaning up after customers is a challenge as it will annoy you. There is also dealing with rude people and not being able to say anything about it (like in any job). You will also have to work with people who may not have the same work ethic as you do, and this could make you feel like you are being taken advantage of for your own good practices.

    Awful place to work
The good thingsGreat to meet new people (customers)
The challengesNever been in a job where team work means nothing and competition means EVERYTHING. I believe working in a team is the best way to work, so by being told you are to compete against one another draws you away from giving great customer service and makes you focus on other employees situations

    Good place to work.
The good thingsGood staff to work with, laid back working environment, good training. Out of work training and brand meetings were good fun.
The challengespoor management, there was incentives for management to reach their KPI's and no incentives for general staff to reach theirs other than the fact they would receive no shifts. KPIs often unrealistic not taking demographic of store into account.

Perfect for a first job (if you're new to the work force) or a second job (if you already have one job) but not ideal for saving money and/or a career.
The good thingsThe vibes, the people you meet, the culture, staff discounts, the music, selling awesome s**t testing out new skateboards when they come in, working Dec - the mad xmas rush is actually made to be a fun time for staff, so many perks of working here.
The challengesLiving on such a minimal wage - retail is all the same. The discounts do make up for it though!
