Only if you can't find a better role anywhere else.
The good thingsI was paid on time and misery loves company so many colleagues were in similar positions
The challengesFamily businesses are great....if you're a member of the family otherwise they lack the vision and professionalism of non family businesses. Frustrating that I was the 5th guy in the job in less than 2 years yet senior management didn't have enough sense to see the problem - the department manager.

Great experience that taught me my worth and it’s definitely a job that I will be proud of.
The good thingsI enjoyed the people I worked with.
The challengesThe only thing I can complain about is the pay structure, the fact is I could go else were and get paid double then here for less work.

My time at Suttons has been incredibly rewarding, with a great balance of support, growth opportunities, and a dynamic work environment that keeps things exciting.
The good thingsI've been at Suttons for almost 12 years now, and it’s been a really enjoyable experience. The environment is fun, and the flexibility has made it easier to keep a good work-life balance. The management team is always supportive and provides great guidance, which has really helped me grow professionally. Whenever I’ve needed help with anything, there’s always been someone there to lend a hand. Overall, it’s a great place to work with a strong focus on helping you succeed and feel comfortable in your role.
The challengesLike any job, there are challenges, and with Suttons being a large organization, there's always something to keep you busy. It can be fast-paced at times, but that’s part of what makes it exciting. Luckily, the supportive environment here has made it easier to manage the workload and meet expectations. The team and management (Priscilla and Lee) really help you to learn and grow within the role, which has been a huge plus in delivering results.

Overall, it's been a great journey, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to grow in a dynamic, well-supported environment.
The good thingsThe workplace culture is friendly and supportive, creating an environment where teamwork is encouraged, and everyone feels valued. There's a great balance of fun and interactive moments, but the best part is the autonomy I'm given in my role. I’ve been able to work independently without micromanagement, thanks to the clear goals and structure in place. The company’s large network provides ample room for growth and development, both personally and professionally.
The challengesThe challenges that come with the role are definitely rewarding, though dealing with external systems and IT teams can be a bit tricky at times.

If you're looking to grow both personally and professionally, joining the BDC department is essential
The good thingsManagement is exceptional. Priscilla, Jesse, Lee, and Ash consistently support every team member. The professional development initiatives from Priscilla and Jesse are ongoing, always setting goals and achievements to strive for. The work-life balance in this department is unparalleled, and there’s a strong emphasis on empowerment. The work culture truly feels like a second family, where every team member gets to know one another beyond just being colleagues. This positive environment stems from the top, as Priscilla, Jesse, Lee, and Ash actively promote these values.
The challengesSimilar to any fast-paced call center or office admin position, there are always deadlines and targets to achieve. However, the strong support and leadership from Priscilla, Jesse, Lee, and Ash help alleviate the pressure. These challenges inspire me to grow and improve, and the ongoing development opportunities in this department keep me motivated.

The good thingsThe Business Development Centre – A Great Place to Work! Working at Suttons, especially in the Business Development Centre (BDC), has been an amazing experience. The atmosphere is more like a family than a team, where everyone supports one another and enjoys working together. Lee, our General Manager, genuinely cares about her staff, always ensuring that we have what we need to succeed both professionally and personally. The leadership from our managers, Ash and Jesse, is outstanding. They consistently guide and inspire the team, making sure we stay on track while keeping the workplace fun and engaging. The challengesLike any fast-paced environment, working at Suttons' Business Development Centre comes with its challenges. We often juggle multiple tasks and deadlines, but the supportive team culture and strong leadership from Lee, Ash, and Jesse make it manageable. The challenges push us to grow and improve, which is why there's so much opportunity to develop professionally within the company.

Suttons is one of the best companies I’ve ever worked for. I genuinely enjoy my time here and would highly recommend this company to anyone.
The good thingsI receive daily support in my role, everyone in the business is collaborative and eager to help with any questions. You can always reach out for assistance.
The challengesEven with complex enquiries and escalations, my team is always ready to assist and support. No situation is ever too complex, and I always feel supported.

You definitely feel like you're a valued part of the family here!
The good thingsI am incredibly supported in everything I do. My achievements however big or small are regularly acknowledged and appreciated, and whenever I am unsure of anything it is a learning experience, I'm told why things are done the way they are done so that I understand for future reference. It feels like all departments talk to each other which I can't say about previous places I have worked.
The challengesIt can get quite busy at times and sometimes hard to keep track of little things in progress, however there is a team behind me that supports each other so that we can get things done.

I did not feel like a person, I felt like a number on an employee list, and a very disposable one at that.
The good things1) Some of the co-workers were good people and were pretty open to helping someone out when they got stuck with something if they were able 2) You can largely operate independently with little supervision (although this was because management was never around to supervise anything to begin with)
The challenges1) Barely any training. You are essentially thrown to the wolves after an extremely brief, informal and overly simplified training day (barely a couple hours) where you will constantly run into problems they didn't teach you to handle properly. 2) No hope of career progression. Everyone there, no matter how much time and effort they put into the role, was stagnant in their position with no hope of advancement in either their role or salary. 3) Completely unsatisfying role. It was either painfully boring or very stressful with no in-between. 4) Management was often unavailable whenever they were needed and never gave any support, even when I was just starting the role 5) Aside from the few good people mentioned in the pros section, the environment was very toxic and a lot of colleagues were very fake. 6) Never felt like the company cared about me, I only felt like a number. 7) Very understaffed. If even one person in a department took a single day off, everyone else's workload would increase to an unreasonable amount which would result in you working overtime and pushing back your own work to compensate, which still effected your work efficiency for several days after the fact. This also resulted in colleagues being passive aggressive towards anyone who would take time off.

The good thingsFor more than 5 years, I've been part of Suttons, where the care for their team continues to astound me. The commitment to improvement is a common thread linking Directors to every team member, creating an environment of genuine care and support.

Stable yet boring and very average.
The good thingsRelative stability. Systems are somewhat easy to use.
The challengesAcross the board remuneration seems to be very much on the lower end of what is out there. Poor remuneration lead to alot of pressure and stress as I found myself constantly having to overperform to make the role financially viable. Very old school in terms of management style.

Working in this environment made me realise this type of industry is not for me.
    The good thingsFriendly work colleagues.
The challengesWorking 11 hour days & sometimes longer with only a half hour lunch break, my salary was very low based on how many hours we had to work, the pay slips would read lower hours (38 hour weeks) at a higher rate which was not the case as I was working 55 hour weeks at a low rate.
