Empaths will be destroyed by the negative energy
The good thingsI.t support was great. Clc building for students is great
The challengesEveryone seems to hate working there. Their attitudes towards students, appalling. An excuse to ignore the endless negative feedback? "Not my problem, not your problem, don't take it personal, these people already had problems". No! They are trying to be heard and no-one listens. Even high up.

    Good people Terrible leaders
The good thingsPeople are great, great knowkefge and SMEs
The challengesThey dont listen to SMEs, treat staff with contempt, Directors are not aligned or competent to run IT, as reflected in PMES survey. PMO is a bloated joke, just focuses on optics no delivery or extremely poor delivery.

Not a happy place to work.
The good thingsSalary is above the market average for the role. Remote working flexibility is good.
The challengesToxic culture within the IT Projects department. Siloed teams, it's potluck as to whether you are in a good team or not. No sense of collaboration, as in 'we all work for TAFE' - there is a lot of 'that's not my job'. Unsupportive management. When I resigned via email I didn't even get a reply.

Some good people but other clowns with too much power and responsibilities
The good thingsThere are some great people, although in most cases you become trauma bonded from the numerous restructures and ways you see management friends slide into roles
The challengesGetting anything done correctly Every manager wants to do things the long way and boast about how difficult it was to receive a recognition award

It was okay and I’d go back.
The good thingsI was there as a temp. It was fine. The full time staff treated us as second class but I quite liked the role and wished it could have been permanent
The challengesBeing a temp you always worry you won’t have your contract extended and when working harder than the full time stuff doesn’t matter

Proud to work for TAFE NSW!
The good thingsCollaborating with passionate and inspiring people. Do impactful and meaningful work. Opportunities to challenge and innovate our ways of working. Supportive and engaging leaders. Real opportunities to develop my career. Benefits such as a flexible work environment, wellbeing programs, competitive salary & extra annual leave loading, and a variety of employee networks and groups to connect with.
The challengesBeing such a large organisation, collaborating with the right people and teams can be a challenge. Having clear objectives, open communication, and engaging leaders, has helped me to create more collaboration opportunities and connections with people across the organisation.

Very sad TAFE conditions for teachers has worsened. Run 🏃‍♀️ The MD boats about good things he is doing we not seeing it at tue ground level
The good thingsThe holidays but you still work in them
The challengesNot flexible will make you do more work in less hours, from higher management. Head teachers have forgotten where they have come from have no spine to stand up to staff

Don't expect to work towards a future with TAFE in the 'hope' of career progression or recognition for hard work. It won't happen.
The good thingsGood people on site. The ones you actually meet in person. And one good manager.
The challengesSilo management mentality and extremely poor management across the board between sections. Casualisation of the workforce and the Inability for individual sections to manage their own staff.

It was a good place to work before the restructure
The good thingsWonderful and helpful colleagues
The challengesWasted potential due to misguided senior management and internal politics. Hard to progress and get promoted. You aren't promoted based on merit and competency - if you want to progress, you have to apply for a higher position as though you were an external person coming into the company for the first time. The staff morale is down due to changes happening all the time. Upper management doesn’t understand the front line work.
