An organization full of potential hindered by its own red tapeThe good thingsAmazing work life balance. But this can depend on which department you work. WFH policy is very solid, even for frontline staff. There are some amazing people in the organization that will be the main reason you would stay. There is a positive, supportive culture that allows for open conversations. Managers will actively listen and provide constructive feedback.
The challengesRED TAPE! There is a never ending roll of red tape. Everything moves incredibly slowly and proper change management does not exist. The organization is unfortunately starting to fall behind on employee benefits and appropriate pay rates. Once you get to a management role, you are expected to do a lot more work for little reward. It is a non-for-profit, so there is some expectation that you push a little harder, but sometimes it becomes pushing a boulder up a hill.
The best way to put it, its a community service, its about the people, and they know how to treat people with respect and integrity. its corporate structure is quite weak. everything moves at a snails pace and can be years before something is enacted, and even then it can be quite a poor attempt in deploying and promoting change. The supporting departments are understaffed and overworked.
